I think the overall consensus is there’s still a lot of optimism for Boya, but people aren’t as high on him as they were before the season. I think people are hopeful that he can start over Bar next year with a whole offseason to get better, but I think the expectations are more realistic now. People thought he’d be a difference maker from the beginning, and I think most people now realize he’s got a lot of upside, but he’s still a little raw. Still, in the limited action we saw of him, I felt he looked smoother than Bar did as a freshman and has a much higher ceiling. I’m excited to see more of him and Elijah Childs together.

I agree. I have not heard anyone around the BU program suggest that Boya won't ultimately contribute, and probably as serious force at the Valley level. But there was too much hype coming in, and the injury was more bothersome than was anticipated. As far as I can tell Wardle is still high on him.

I think anytime a mid-major lands a 7'1" guy, fans get unreasonably excited. It was the same way with Nate Wells a few years back. Boya will need to adjust to the speed of D1 ball. He fouls at way too high a rate...7.2 fouls/40 minutes. A lot of that is reacting late to developing plays. I still see Koch Bar getting the majority of the minutes at the 5 next year. I think you'll also see some smaller lineups with Henry and Childs at the 4/5 as well.

Question for UNI fans: How is Phyfe doing? Is he a question mark or is his return very likely?

Phyfe hasn't had a fainting/dizziness episode since right after Christmas. Was cleared to practice right after the first of February and was a full go by the end of the year.

Every indication is that he'll be really to go next year.

Heck, I remember when Missouri State got a guy who was 6'11" and I got unreasonably excited and then he did basically nothing as a Bear. So I feel you on this one.

What's the word on potential turnover of the Bradley roster? I saw a rumor about Darrell Brown potentially leaving. I also imagine Childs will get some calls about going P5.

Caleb Patterson?

I was excited about him too. He was 6'11" and had some skills. Smooth shot, good hands, etc. But he was so laid back and just seemed disinterested in basketball.

First I'm not worried about Boya. Excited to have him on the roster. He got over-hyped because of his size and apparent athleticism over what Bar offers. He then got hurt, which did not allow him to catch up to the speed of the D1 game. I also heard that he never fully got recovered and kept having minor set backs throughout the year. Excited for his future as he will have another year to get stronger and get up to the speed of the D1 game.

Bradley for sure graduates DLO, Luqman Lundy, and Pete Hanley (walk-on who was given scholarship after our Juco Flaked out last summer). It's pretty much written that Antoine Pittman is gone too. He was a redshirt Junior that lost all playing time, and he should graduate and maybe move onto a place he will play more.

Rumors are there is a good chance that Junior Jayden Hodgeson is probably on the way out. He played a lot the first 2 years, and the first half of last year, but when Bradley turned it around, he was not on the floor.

Rumors of Darryl Brown leaving pop up every year around this time. I just don't see him or Elijah Child's wanting to jump ship at this point. They just made the NCAA tournament and have a good core of the team coming back. I have a hard time believing they don't want to get back and win a few games next year. From what I read on the Bradley message board, sounds like ISU fans were trying to misrepresent a post on DB's Instagram account.

Brown and/or Elijah aren't going anywhere. Just wishful thinking from ISU fans. Maybe if Penny wasn't killing it on the recruiting trail we'd be worried about him trying to lure Brown who is his godson.

This was originally going to be Boya's final year of prep school. He reclassified to enroll at BU then broke his ankle in September and came back around Xmas, and kept re aggravating it. So his development is way behind schedule. Wardle gambled a bit inserting him vs Sparty but he was late helping a couple times defensively and Bar had to be subbed in. Hopefully he's 100% after the summer and gives us a great option to go big down the road. 7-1 kids with shot blocking skills like his don't fall off trees.
