What we're seeing is simple anger at the situation.

The MVC is done on day 1 of the tournament. That is never acceptable.

We got stuck on the 15 line. Look at what our 15 did, and what the other 15s are doing in this tournament. It's a personal affront to the league that they were stuck on the 15 line.

If this year doesn't spark change in realignment, nothing ever will. It's still a collective failure on the 10 members on the whole*, but outside help is required now. This was probably the worst season in MVC history, and the realization that we're done on day 1 is sinking in.



*well, 9 failures and Drake, for whom the basketball gods decided weren't allowed to have nice things this year

The conference as a whole did not play up to expectations this year.

With the way things are now it keeps getting more difficult for mid majors to get at large bids.

I think NET is a net plus for mids. The mids themselves had horrible years all the way around (except for the SoCon and Buffalo). If the mids play to their capability, they'll reap the rewards of NET.

Remember, the only reason Belmont got an at-large bid was because Lipscomb barreled into Quad 1/2 status. Wofford is on the 7 line, Buffalo the 6.

So what do we, as fans, do? Does an email campaign to Elgin achieve anything? It’s obvious that in this day and age, the conference should do what is necessary to make it the best it can be, the best value for fans’ entertainment dollars, and the most insulated from poaching as possible. But does the league office, or more importantly the university presidents, care what we think?

No... If University presidents cared about you beyond soaking you for money Valpo's facilities wouldn't be crap Lottich would be gone and so would Lansing Lusk and Simmons wouldn't have lasted as long as they did Loyola and Drake wouldn't have been bad for decades and Murray State would already be in the MVC even as we wait on a twelfth team to emerge.

Contacting anyone at the MVC office wont get you anywhere. Unless there is a large scale uproar it will come down to school presidents and athletic directors.
