Nice win. McCarthy will do a nice job in his hometown of Evansville.

Congratulations Evansville! Still some good games left on the non con schedule too. Keep it up and maybe just maybe they can play themselves into the conversation Though they started out pretty low so who knows.

What conversation? And how low is 0-0 record to start just like all other team?

The At-large conversation. And I meant the metrics. Even after that massive win Evansville's KenPom is still inexplicably in the 130s. I just wonder if maybe they'll have to climb too much to really get any love from the committee metrics wise. I think they can because winning cures all but I don't know for sure.

It just goes to show that no matter what a Mid Major does they will never get the boost from a good win. Now a bad lose and the bottom will fall out. That is just the way it goes. Kentucky only fell a few positions.

Pomeroy himself will tell you his rankings are pretty much garbage until everybody has about 8 games in.

The Aces will get their bump. It's just not immediate in his system yet.

Exactly an upset this early on is an outlier, it needs to be backed with some more solid wins before there’s a dramatic change in rank.

Even so, the Kentucky win sent the Aces up 65 spots in KenPom rank between Tuesday afternoon (#169) and Wednesday morning (#134).
