The teams are announced at 10, Larry Bird Award at 2. Most of the other awards are tomorrow.

jackwagon wrote:This is a dumb argument. Krut is the superior player, end of story. Phyfe has the benefit of letting Green run the offense and shooters all around to keep the lane clean. Meanwhile Loyola has asked Krut to be their offensive engine. If you switched players Krut would go bananas for UNI.

Indeed, Krutwig’s usage is 29.4%, while Phyfe’s is 22.8%. And what you kindly point out is true; AJ often double teamed helps Phyfe’s efficiency. But I don’t see how it helps his rebounding.

Of course I agree with BC that both are outstanding players in the nation.

And if you read carefully, at no time did I say Phyfe is the better player. So I don’t see why the vitriol. I Said that in some ways, he’s better. I stand by that.

Only quibble with the first team is Key over Robbins but that's not a serious mistake.

Thought Prim and Hall might have been second team caliber but this league is deep.

Surprised not to see Berhow on any team at all but again league depth. I think they could have put Berhow on the third team over Kennell but I understand keeping Kennell on there. He was big for the Braves in Childs absence.

Sycamores up and down those awards. Watch out for them. Their future is incredibly bright. I hope they put together a challenging slate next year because I think they'll win their share of them.

I have no problems with how this went. My really only beef is why is Child's on here having missed so many games (I'm a Bradley fan). Otherwise these look about right. Kennel for Bradley definitely deserved some mention because he has been awesome this year, took his game to a new level.

I don't really see any major surprises here.

1st Team:
Freeman-Liberty: Valpo
Green:UNI
Key: Indiana State
Krutwig: Loyola
Phyfe: UNI

2nd Team:
Brown: Bradley
Childs: Bradley
Cook: Mo State
Domask: SIU
Robbins: Drake

3rd Team:
Barnes: Indiana State
Hall: Loyola
Kennell: Bradley
Penn: Drake
Prim: Mo State

Newcomer:
Domask: SIU
Hall: Loyola
LaRavia: INST
Penn: Drake
Prim: Mo State

Freshman:
Clay: Valpo
Domask:SIU
Horne: Illinois State
Kennedy: Loyola
LaRavia: INST

Defense:
Brown: UNI
Freeman-Liberty: Valpo
Robbins: Drake
Williams: Indiana State
Williamson: Loyola

POY seems to be between JFL and AJ Green. Likely going to Green but man, what a season for those guys. When was the last time two Sophomores were battling for POY? Sure, you can put Krutwig in there too, but I like the other two more with Cam in third. Also, check out the first team with two traditional 5's in Krut and Phyfe. We have a versatile league.

Also, look at all of the players who aren't seniors on this list. Not including the freshman and newcomer teams of the 20 spots (defense and the 3-all conference teams) 14 are set to return next year. Zero seniors on the first team. Also, I think I might take the All-Freshman team to beat the Third Team. The league is in great hands moving forward.

Agreed with Majik that Childs probably shouldn't have made the list but not a big deal in my eyes.

Trae Berhow is---

11th in the league in scoring (13 ppg)
9th in the league in rebounding (5.6 rpg)
4th in the league in 3s made (70)
5th in the league in FT percentage (84%)
1st in the league and 5th IN THE NATION in 3 pt % (45%)

and apparently not one of the 15 best players in the league.

He's the only glaring omission here. Everything else looks pretty good.

I think Childs' injury which forced Kennell to step up cost Berhow his spot. You could make a very strong argument that Berhow deserved second team consideration as well (probably in place of Cook). This league is so deep there was going to be somebody left off who shouldn't have been.

Roman Penn. The answer is Roman Penn.

No business on any all league team.
