It's almost like the measures taken to keep COVID at bay really hampered the spread of the flu as well. Weird how that works.

If you don't want to wear a mask - then go somewhere that doesn't require you to. Rules aren't really that hard to follow.

530,000 lives lost. You forgot the part that more people die from heart desease, and cancer each year. Flu cases are down because people have been wearing masks. Blaming this virus on China is the easy blame. Agent Orange knew about this virus coming our way, and blew it off, said it would be gone by last April!!! Horrible leadership!!! God bless Dr. Fauci.

The debate about whether covid restrictions are good or bad is totally irrelevant here.

The rules were set, the protocols were made. Every team agreed to the restrictions and precautions set by the Valley and followed them dilligently. But in the course of a night, those agreed upon rules suddenly changed due to a gigantic oversight by the MVC, and a team lost their fair shot at winning the tournament.

The whole point of a tournament is to give every participant a chance to win with agreed upon rules. The moment that failed, this tournament became illegitimate. I understand the need to push forward and play on, and I'm sure it's contractual, but in a fair world, they either cancel this tournament and award the 1 seed the auto bid, or delay the remainder of it so they can find somewhere to finish it properly.

As a panther fan, I can't help but feel utterly disgusted seeing these score updates today.

If I understand from what Jacobson tweeted out, once they knew of the positive test they did not isolate that person from the rest of the group and if you were in a mask, you were fine interacting with that person per MVC protocol. If there was even a remote chance you could pick up covid from the positive person, why would you risk your basketball season and take that risk knowing that testing is happening daily? Why would that person not be immediately quarantined from the rest of the group out of abundance of caution?

This one event does not define Doug Elgin’s career. But his response has been totally inadequate and with this coming at the end of his tenure, it will be how he is remembered.

Move the tournament and conference office out of St. Louis. If he were to do that before he retires he would gain some respect back from me and perhaps a few others.

No it isn’t odd that people haven’t died from the flu.

Its called masks and social distancing. To answer your other question, you can still spread the virus even if you’re vaccinated. Personal responsibility doesn’t work if you as a vaccinated individual give it to an unvaccinated person because you don’t wear a mask.

These are simple answers to questions the world has already answered. You only don’t know if you’re too busy shouting into the void

So you fully expect to wear a mask the rest of your life?

Dude give it up. Talk to your doctor. I'll bet he/she would tell you different
as would 90+percent of physicians and nurses. . But regardless this is a basketball site not a medical or political site.

No horse in this race, but they should have loaded up the bus, drove to Evansville and held the game there. Completely ridiculous that Elgin didn’t understand the local Covid protocols. That’s your job, and he failed in the most horrific and spectacular way. They should have ended the tournament right then and there, what’s taking place is a complete farce. We only need to look back to last year when Valpo made it to the finals to know that absolutely anything can happen. Disgusting.
