Depaul is my biggest rival as a Loyola fan. I’ll throw UIC in the mix too. SIU felt like a fun rivalry when Brian Mullens first left and we still had Porter.

Murray's biggest traditional rivals have been Western Kentucky and Austin Peay, in that order. Even though Western left the conference early in the Reagan administration and we've only played sporadically since. Haven't played them since they joined Conference USA and suddenly became too good for us, but I think we're playing them again starting in a couple years. Don't think that conference made out too well with the recent upheaval.

Recently, it's unquestionably been Belmont. Great day we finally beat them on their court. I expect they will continue to be a big rival going forward. We had a minor rivalry with SIU for a few years a couple decades ago when both our teams were good and they played us almost every year, then our program hit a down spell and they started beating us pretty consistently and badly, and it tailed off. Should be a good regional rival going forward now that both teams are good again.

For Indiana State historically it used to be Ball State aka ISU-Muncie. We have a traveling football trophy called the Victory Bell that the winner takes home with them when we play each other. We last played each other in football in 2014 and we won! Used to in the 90's we'd play each other annually in the Hoosier Dome (where the Colts played). Unfortunately them being FBS and us being FCS kind of killed that one. We still play each other every year in basketball, but the rivalry just isn't what it used to be.

Currently I'd say Evansville is probably our biggest rival, although I think most Sycamore fans, including myself, get the most joy out of beating Illinois State. Evansville unfortunately has fallen on really hard times and it has hurt the rivalry in my view.

Even when Drake was horrible Creighton, Iowa, Iowa State and UNI were almost always sold out. UNI is the only one of those left, and they seem to lose interest fast when things aren't going well. I feel like everybody in the conference is a decent rival with Drake having played all of them from the time they entered the conference to the present. WSU always drew a big crowd too.

Up until the past couple of years, Drake's biggest rival had been Thursday night. :D

And yet Thursday night will again be the Indiana Invitational this year once again. Haha

Last night's ILST-BU game was the epitome of a rivalry. Anything can happen. Birds were down as much as 20 in the first half and I believe were up 10 at one point in the second half. Kendall Lewis absolutely locked down Roberts in the second and the Birds overall decided it would be a good idea to play defense. In the first half, they looked like they'd never defended a ball screen before. I'm pretty sure they gave up 20 points alone due to confusion surrounding the screens.

Hell of a second half by the Birds. If they would stop spotting opponents double digit leads, they could be a pretty decent team. I will say, it seems no lead is safe against the Birds. It takes a lot of energy having to mount a comeback. At times, it's easy to comeback. It's hard to comeback and win.

By "they" you mean AARP super club that is the (K)Napp Center home crowd? UNI always has a decent crowd in DSM for that game. Many of the Drake fans in years past were typically cranky that they were still up at 7 pm for tip off.

Thankfully the recent success of the Bulldogs has helped bring the average age at games below retirement level and made the atmosphere more exciting and fun for opposing fans.

UNI has decent crowds in DSM? That must be where they are going instead of Cedar Falls.
