Loyola did what was right for Loyola culturally and institutionally. They're free to make that move.

The Valley was around for 100 years before they got here and we'll be better after they're gone.

Now let's talk about the huge game in Chicago on Sunday.

I dont care either way, I'm just happy we beat their arse last night!! In fact, I guess now I become a huge rambler fan until March as I want the 3 seed in the worst way and they have 2 left with Uni and one with the Drake

The student section has been packed, outside of that it’s been mixed. They shut down concessions due to Covid for some reason, so now you can’t drink beer or eat during the game. That seems to have made things worse. It should be a fun big crowd on Sunday though, I do wonder how the Super Bowl is going to impact it. The timing of the game is pretty shitty, I think many fans that have plans for the super bowl may miss the game.

Fun game in Peoria last night. I was just waiting for Loyola to make the veteran plays they always make down the stretch to steal the game away like they have in the past. Happy to say it didn't happen, and Bradley made the plays they needed to in order to win the game.

The Terry Roberts tear drop as the shot clock expired, and the play Terry made to push it against the pressure which led to a Leon's bucket and the foul were just type of plays Bradley didn't make early in the season.

Bradley has now beaten Loyola, Drake, and UNI. Their loss to MSU was on a last second 3 while up a point that came off an offensive rebound. I don't think Bradley is winning the valley, but there appears to be a top 5 in the conference now.

It's definitely a Top 5 and all the credit in the world to Bradley for forcing that. The Braves have been really good for the last month. There's a very real scenario where we've got a car crash at 13-5/12-6 with gnarly tiebreakers to decide seedings in StL.

Y'all have to make a promise that you'll figure it out before mid-January next year, please?

That would be nice! Waiting on Hacksaw's latest update now....all is moot anyway unless we follow through on Saturday

I think he sounds about the way most do. Loyola is leaving for a different conference, and not one that is really any better than the Valley. Tulsa and Wichita thought it was great for them as well and thus far, it definitely hasn't.

Loyola is leaving, so hoping for them to experience success elsewhere would be unusual.

I disagree, most fans I talk to aren’t hateful related to the move and are understanding. On top of that Loyola doing well this year only benefits the conference, they leave any money made in March with the MVC.

I understand fans may be salty about them leaving for the A10 and root against them for leaving the MVC, but the good riddance and “stupid” lateral move comment is ignorant. The A10 is a better cultural fit and statistically has been the better conference for decades.

Edit: this is also coming from a Loyola fan that would have been happy to stay in the MVC, but understands the move to the A10.

But none of that is the point. The move has been announced. Thinking fans of this conference would be hoping for you to experience success elsewhere is unusual and, frankly, counterproductive.

Fans of the Valley should want teams who leave the Valley to not experience success elsewhere as to serve as a cautionary tale of leaving one conference and losing the momentum and success that made them an attractive add in the first place.

I.E. a fan of the Valley rooting for Loyola to have success elsewhere would be unusual.

I agree with cultural fit but have to push back on "statistically has been the better conference for decades." The Valley rated higher than the A10 as recently as 2018 and in the 2000s was rated higher than the A10 fairly regularly.

But they have that sweet east coast exposure that gets them an extra bid.
