Where is Tank Hemphill? He only started 3 conference games so he should be eligible.

Lu'Cye Patterson not being included here is the biggest miss on all of the all conference teams.

Yeah, that most improved team is a mess. Reeves, Mast, Patterson and Carter should have been locks and only two of them show up.

I get that voters consider results but aren't these awards designed to reward the league's best players, regardless of the success (or lack of) their team?

The people that didn't have Mosley or Green on their ballot should have their voters rights revoked. Similarly to that Chicago sports media clown that said he'd never vote for Aaron Rodgers for MVP.

Good thing the league's leading scorer was not only voted first team, but also player of the year.

I didn't know 19.1>20.5 and 516>627.

21.2 > 19.7

Green didn't get a chance to play an extra game or two against 300+ NET or non-DI competition. Oh wait, the only 300+ NET team UNI played was Evansville as opposed to 4 others for ISU. The only non-conference team they had in common was Jackson State and Green put in 24 to Reeves' 14. However, everybody played the same 9 teams twice in conference though, except Green who only got Valpo once and still scored 6 more total points than Reeves in one less game. Mosley did score 17 more than Green with the extra game.

No. That's not how things work or have ever worked.

Both mvc.org and ESPN have Reeves as the number 1 scorer.

There are plenty of beat reporters who have publicly documented that they only consider MVC-only stats when voting on awards. AJ Green led the conference in scoring in MVC play.

If you want to consider the entire season, that's fine. No one will condemn you for that. But different people have different schools of thinking and to say "That's not how things work or have ever worked." just is not accurate as many people vote on conference only stats.

It should only be league games that count.

That's the only way to compare apples to apples with teams playing the same schedules.

UNIs non-con was WAY stronger than Illinois State's, so how is it fair to use those stats...

I'm for counting the whole season but understand the opposing view point. ISU's noncon wasn't very strong this season but in the "toughest games" Reeves had: 19 vs Murray State, 20 vs SLU, 17 vs Buffalo, and 23 vs Wisconsin. 19.75 ppg versus top 100 teams in the noncon. So, pretty consistent with how he played the season, overall.

And Green's 5 points against DIII powerhouse Dubuque was great.

This. League-only games. That's it.

Because he was really needed in a 40 point win where he played barely half the game? Carter led the team in scoring with 17 when he was still coming off the bench, then it was Pickford and Kimmons with 13 and walk-on Drew Daniels who played half of the total minutes he played all year in that game scoring 10 points. The first media was 11-10 UNI, second media was 20-12 UNI and the third media was 34-17, never had a need for AJ to do anything more than run through things with the rest of the team.

Maybe ISU uses those games to pad stats but UNI has always used the non D-I games as competitive practices where they work on a number of things. Pretty sure we played some zone and full court press in that game for a few stretches just to be able to work on them.
