Basketball insider Adam Zagoria on Twitter: "The UIC job is down to Norfolk State's Robert Jones and Eastern Kentucky's AW Hamilton, per source. Both have term sheets."

No return to Chicago for Mullins, at least not through UIC.

Jones has done a really nice job at Norfolk. They've never finished lower than third in the league during his tenure which started in 13-14, and that was only one year. Every other season, he's been first or second. He's only had one losing season at Norfolk freaking State.

Plus, Illinois State fans would love it.

I think he'd be a nice get for UIC.

He can coach. Norfolk does have quite a bit better resources than most of the MEAC. That is an advantage. But he has been really good there. Would be an interesting hire but I get it. I think outside the box some with a guy who has actually won is smart.

Jones looks like a real good candidate. Hamilton, not so much.

If you guys want an Illinois State fan's perspective, just let me know. LOL. He goes to UIC, the level of disdain from our fan base might match that of Gregggg Marshall and an instant rivalry is born.

I’m with you. I’ll root for any team in non conference, but I’ll tell you who I want to get 12th in our league. Haha

That’s an 11 on the uninspiring meter.

An uninspiring retread from a failed staff that couldn't get to the top half of a worse league his first time in the big chair.

C'mon Flames.

Robert Jones would’ve generated nuclear heat at Redbird Arena. Missed opportunity to inject some energy into the league.
