She makes more than any coach in the MVC.

How about Nancy Lieberman Cline? You see what I did there? I switched one female for another.

Well if we are going that route, then how about Doug Bruno. :P

Can someone ballpark the current salary for each head coach? I think McDermott is around a mil per year. How much does Bradley expect to pay someone?

And I agree fully. Won't miss the slicked back hair, but will miss the coach.

Bradley Brave, you meant "goals", not "standards."

BU is no more special than Evansville, Drake, MSU, or the other Valley schools.

I have fired people. Comes with the territory. However, coaches are sometimes fired to appease big money donors, irrational fans, and to protect canning of the AD. There are times to fire a coach.

Now, put down the Red Kool Aid, mark this blog, and pull it out in 2016 when you fire the coach you hired in 2011.

Ace Dad--if coaches made 80K a year I could see your point. However, they make absolutely ridiculous salaries. Absolutely ridiculous. As a result, the pressure is greater. When you make over 200K a year then, yeah, people expect results. Maybe it's unfair to them? Who knows. But with the money comes the pressure.

Agreed, and understand that I do not feel sorry for a Head Coach because he will walk away with 500K to 900K to fund his retirement and then he will get a job as an Assistant, Analyst, or fill in the blank. The Coach signs the contract and sets it up so when he is fired, he is paid. Got it.

My frustration is with the hypocricy of it all. The big backers who write the big checks have a little too much power in college sports. Fans are a different story. Fans want to win and most do not care how they win, to include under the table dealings or looking the other way. Fans want the adrenaline rush that comes with knocking down a jumper with 1 second on the clock that leads to a NCAA berth. Win baby. Win!
