Maybe it's getting late but what the hell does that mean?

An even bracket works in powers of 2.

64 play to get to 32. 32 ->16->8->4->2

24 isn't in that list, so one side of the bracket has 16 teams and each team plays one more round than the other side of the bracket, which only has 8 teams in it.

The first sentence in the quote above seems wrong. You'd expect 16 teams to play in the extra round, which would leave 8 survivors. They join the 8 teams who had the byes to form the round of 16 teams.

In theory, you pay more for the CBI because they will take power conference teams with records below .500, like Iowa (who I wouldn't want to play right now, since they're playing really good ball), but the CIT will only take mids.

If I remember right, the releases for CIT/CBI came out VERY late Sunday night/Monday morning last year.

The CBI website has been down all night. I'd guess there are quite a few people trying to get schedule info.

Yeah, crazy that there is that much interest that the site went down, current CBI participants are:

Creighton, Boise St., St. Bons, San Jose St., Evansville, Austin Peay, Davidson, Hofstra, Weber St, Oregon, UCF, JMU, Miami(OH), Rider

Official should be out soon....not to get ahead but Creighton vs. Oregon in the finals would be very intriguing.

Valparaiso has announced they accepted a bid to the CBI. That should leave only one team left to accept if the preceding list is correct. Evansville has accepted according to the site I was reviewing but hasn't make an official comment yet. Probably waiting on the opponent.
