If I was the Big 10, I would go to 18. UNC, Duke, Virginia. I make one final push at Notre Dame after I decimate the ACC and if they still say no, Georgia Tech accepts and gives me the Atlanta market.

They have already said they want to play more conference games so 18 is a workable number...

At what point do they basically just become their own association? Yikes.

Despite being an FSU fan who would see his program left in the death of the ACC ... I would do the same. I'm not entirely sure the reason why Duke wouldn't be accepted in the B1G. I'd have a rule set that Duke has to spend a certain amount/percentage on football (which they've been doing lately, paying their coach well, renovating facilities, and actually winning games), and then take the package deal with UNC in a heartbeat. Virginia, GT, and ND as well.

I don't really think any of the conferences right now want to be the one that brings down another conference, though. I think there's too much uncertainty about what the aftermath would be.

The Big East and ESPN today announced their new TV deal, worth $130 million through 2020. Hard to break it down to a per-school basis due to the fluctuations in the Big East's roster, but it works out to 20 million per year for six years of both basketball and football, and ten additional million for next year's football only.

Terrible deal for the Big East.

Excellent deal for Conference USA. Which is essentially what the Big East is now. I feel bad for UConn. Although I'm very glad the ACC took Louisville over them.

If creighton did get invited by the c7 as the 10th and final team. Who would you replace the bluejays with? Best case STL?? Dayton? would they leave a10 and vcu? would u go for both and add a 12th team?

If you could get them to leave (doubt they would) that would be great for the conference.. and the final team should be a known name like Valpo Murray State Western Kentucky Detroit or Milwaukee

If Richmond gets the 10th and final team spot.. mvc would be dumb not to try to grab the flyers and billicans
and this might sound crazy but i would actually add more teams to get to 14 or 16!! more teams.. more in the tourney.. mvc & Dayton, St.Louis, Murray St. western Kentucky, Valpo, Milwaukee? Detroit? Belmont

Worst case scenario c7 goes w/ 12teams and Dayton St Louis and Creighton all depart for the c7.. now what do u do?? leave it at 9 or add a team? who??
not a fan of adding any Dakota schools

WKU is going to C-USA. They would not give up their place at the FBS table anyway.

The MAC turned down WKU about a decade ago because of academics. Things might be different now but why go to the MAC when C-USA is available? Their biggest rival, MTSU, just was invited by C-USA and they accepted.

Murray State is an interesting school. They have had success in basketball but they are a much smaller school with a very small endowment compared to the MAC schools. Additionally Murray State is FCS and isn't anywhere close to being FBS ready. Another problem for Murray State is they are located in a low population area. They would not be targeted by the MAC. This latter point on the population base might work against them in terms of the MVC.
