What's the word on him, Dawg fans? On ILSTs side, we needed a veteran PG to help bring along our incoming freshman. We're hoping Dalt is the guy to do that. His playing time seemed to go down year after year at SIU. Seems like he has some offensive talent but had to play 6th fiddle to Domask and Jones any time he was on the court.

His playing time seemed to go down year after year at SIU. Seems like he has some offensive talent but had to play 6th fiddle to Domask and Jones any time he was on the court.

Positives: Outstanding and mature kid with leadership traits. Strong and rugged defender. Pretty good ball-handler and distributor.

Negatives: Average quickness for a point guard. Below average 3-point shooter. Being a smaller guard, sometimes struggles to finish at the rim on his drives.

Basically, he's a classic Saluki who is better defensively than offensively. Given his offensive limitations, playing him around 10-12 minutes off the bench seems about right for a decent MVC team, but apparently he wanted more. I don't think he was thrilled when they brought in Xavier Johnson last year to start over him but to be honest, his production didn't warrant a starting role.

Certainly an eyebrow-raising maneuver that will spice up the SIU-ISU rivalry a bit.

I like Banks but think he got as many minutes as he should have gotten. He's a good back-up point guard that hustles but he never showed much of the scoring ability he did in high school we were excited about. He's really not good close to the basket, gets a lot of shots blocked. Maybe going to a better offensive system will help him.

Illinois big man Brandon Lieb to Illinois State

Belmont landed a commitment for Will Shaver, a 6-10 260 redshirt freshman center from North Carolina. He had an injury in his freshman year that limited his playing time, but he should be a good one. Put him on the floor with our new 6-9 power forward from Vanderbilt and we suddenly have a very nice front line.
