He had an injury in his freshman year that limited his playing time, but he should be a good one. Put him on the floor with our new 6-9 power forward from Vanderbilt and we suddenly have a very nice front line.

Belmont will be the next Creighton/Wichita St/Loyola

Missouri State hasn’t had much roster movement but did pick up a couple commitents today that will make Bears fan happy. Added a 6’4” sharpshooter from SLU who redshirted this season but can really light it up from deep…made 60% from deep in HS. Also added Cesare Edwards a 6’9” 220 forward from Xavier. Didn’t produce much at Xavier, just 2.2ppg this season…but had DI experience and is a former 4* and composite Top 150 national recruit. Will be physically ready to contribute right away. To good pickups to go with the returning core.

Bradley signed 6-4 guard Emarion Ellis today.

I'm sure the Iowa folks know him as he played HS ball in Davenport. Was a Top 100 recruit out of HS. Originally committed to Texas and went to Marquette with Shaka Smart.

Played a bit as a freshman and then was injured and redshirted last year. Can have three years of eligibility.

Don't look now. Brian Wardle just reloaded like few of us imagined possible after losing Mast and Zek. The last 2 coaches who had success at BU (Molinari and Les) faded and failed to build on it. Looks like Wardle intends to learn from that. Great recruiting class, including 2 transfers who were 4-star top-150 recruits out of HS. Wardle: "Our staff is excited. This is probably the most talented team I've had here."

Jim Molinari had maybe the best back to back recruiting classes in 40 years. He was fired before he got to coach half of it.

Agreed. No doubt. But by then he'd already let it slip away. He needed to capitalize on the '96 success. It took him 4 years to get his recruiting act together after that. That's not good enough in this business, and it seems Wardle knows that.

This has been a fun player to research since the announcement. My phone lit up last night after the hail storm with everybody excited about this addition.

The Anthony Grundy fiasco hurt Molinari trying to sustain success.

It's nice to see the Valley working the other side of the transfer portal after losing some really good talent these past couple years. There have been some really solid adds to the conference these past couple months.

From what I've read, Ellis would have been an off the bench guy at Marquette and fighting for minutes with 3 or 4 guys but instead is looking at an immediate starter role at Bradley. I am sure he would be getting more NIL money if he stayed at Marquette. Glad to see there are guys out there who can see how it benefits them to get minutes in a solid mid-major conference over NIL, P6 "prestige", but get less playing time. If the MVC can target and keep landing these types of players, we'll be just fine as a conference.
