Really isaso; how's that national mindset working out for ya? Is this going to be another one of those silly arguments in which you try to say what happened 25-30 years ago is the basis for your stance. I read the other day that Chicago State has more overall Big Ten titles in sports than Purdue does historically. I'm sure Purdue frets about that. Or surely after the years of grief you gave CU about the NIT, that's not what you're trying to hang your hat on,is it ?

I'm pretty sure it's the University of Chicago, not Chicago State. Either way, it's ancient history.

Even U of Chicago has reinstated football.

It is a little difficult to believe your are building a national program when you can't win your own league. I'm glad Marshall was retained, it ensures WSU will always be good just never great. Marshall always sea to buckle when the game is on the line late.

Let's just deal with the reality that the way WSU has gone about things for the last 20 years has resulted in them having the least combined total of NCAA appearences, MVC titles, and MVC tourney titles in men's basketball of all the teams in the league. And isn't that what everyone tends to use as their measuring stick for on court success ? And granted, while MSU has far from had the best approach to sustaining program success during that time compared to other Valley constituents, it has been enough to attain better results than WSU from the minute we stepped in the league till now. In every way; combined championships, NCAA tourney appearences, head to head competition, average conference finish. Now we know we haven't attained anything close to the level we want or need to, but you seem a bit delusional in regards to WSU in the same context. But I do love how Cold sets up these opportunities to educate about factual data though. I'm not sure who all you think it catches, but it almost always brings you out isaso. Nicely played Cold.

So anyway you hang on to that " national level" mindset, but somehow I think you're going to have to first be a little better in your own neighborhood to get there.

pwned. :)

Clearly grillz, WSU is heading into the wrong direction. Perhaps I should provide some links to some preseason polls for next year. It definitely "sea" like Marshall is getting ready to "buckle".

Should be a great year next year in Springfield. Looking forward to looking way up to you guys in the standings next year. Also, very impressed to see that the league title this year improve your stock on the national scene and land you a spot in the big boys tournament. Clearly, MSU is beyond great. They need to drop this league that they own.

President Beggs makes $273,962 at WSU

Interestingly John Tomblin of WSU NIAR makes $342,193.

While Wichita State has teh fewest NCAA appearances of any Valley team over the last 20 years, they also hold the best winning percentage at 66%. Nobody else comes close.

It's all in how you want to look at the numbers.

Looking deeper at the numbers, I must add the the present market value of Gregg Marshall is much less than the $1,213,000 Wichita State is paying him. If Wichita State wins, it could reach or exceed $1,213,000, but it's not even close right now.

There have been several comments in this thread regarding concepts like market value, clearly illustrating the need for more degree programs to require at least an introductory course in business theory.
