Kwadzo didn't even average one steal a game...I know it's hard to fathom...but defense is as important as putting the pumpkin in the cylinder. Numbers in conference were 2.1 for odum and .6 for kwadzo per game. that's quite a difference.

Steals don't necessarily equal good defense and not getting a lot of steals doesn't mean you're a bad defender. I will say 2.1 SPG is pretty impressive and could be used as a point in the argument though.

Andshock, You make a reall good point because regularly what happens is a player picks up from another players tipped pass...Good point but gettin 2.1 steals a game and being known as one of the premier perimeter defenders in the valley...Someone said b4 the tourney that "no one gameplans against Odum" IDK why in the world you wouldn't want to gameplan to turn him into a jumpshooter lol....

as if the media never makes mistakes in giving out these awards? lol...to be honest I was suprised Odum wasn't named defensive POY BUT...Kwadzo is a great player in his own right and had a great career, I jsut believe Odum was not only better this year but will be better at the end of his career. Personal opinion, don't respond like I pissed in your wheaties.

I was unaware that finding the broadest identical sample size for a statistical comparison was dumb.

Listen buddy, you made a statement trying to degrade Kwadzo's defensive abilites while comparing them to Odum's when you say "defense is important too", while completely ignoring the fact that Kwadzo has been on the all defense team on multiple occasions, while being named the league's best defense player this year. Sorry, but that is idiotic.

NO u listen, I was commenting on a guy saying "having steals per game in a comparison against Kwadzo is idiotic" that's idiotic. Alot like saying "Because a guy is a good defensive player defense from a superior defensive player shouldn't be considered."

Was that supposed to be some kind of coherent sentence?

I'm not going to lock the thread yet, but I might ask the participants to look at the title of the thread and ask if what you are posting fits in this discussion. The vast majority of the recent posts do not.
