They finished a solid 3rd and had quite a few quality wins against the upper half of the league. When we played them in the tourney final I know the Bears players and coach were not looking past them. They simply beat us in that decisive game.

Do I think they were the best team in the Valley last year though? No I don't. Looking at the whole season - I would put the Bears and WSU above them. That's just a matter of opinion though.

Agreed, but I will take it one step farther and say the "element of surprise" would have nothing to do with anyone winning the tournament. Sure, you might be able to surprise the first team you play because the other team could be looking past you, but using that as an excuse for anything beyond the first game equates to a cop-out to me.

Well well well....guess who is back! The week before the tourney started I made a thread with a guarantee the ISUB would win the Valley tournament......ohhhh and guess who was right. You all ate your crow then and you will eat your crow when March rolls around this year. State is back baby!

Save your newspaper clippings son so you'll have something to look back fondly upon. It ain't happening again. If "State is back" as you say, then it has to be that they are returning to their well defined slot on play in day which they have occupied FAR more often than not in the last 15 years or so.

And it is because of these great hit-and-run gems why everyone loves the Indiana State fanbase.

Is InSU planning on accepting that offer to join the Summit League?

One year of semi-relevance since Larry Bird, capped by getting a 14-seed as an auto-bid, and a one-and-done in the NCAA's is so much like a Summit League team. InSU and some of their fans would really be a great fit for the Summit League.

In the Summit League, InSU fans could probably get cocky once a decade instead of once every 30 years. It's also a great geographic fit. Cut down on travel expenses.

Wasn't Indiana State fairly relevant back when Michael Menser and Keylyn Block were playing?

I could have gone without seeing the name Keylyn Block... He and Jeff Hawkins kept us from a state title

Government does not solve problems; it subsidizes them.

Clever and funny.
