More "joy" among Kansas State fans as Weber announces he's about to hire Chris Lowery as an assistant coach at Kansas State. The situation at KSU is getting pretty humorous.

That article in the Wichita Eagle has more hits than any of the articles about Kansas going to the NC game.

Thanks for posting that link. Great stuff.

I actually think Lowery will be a good assistant/recruiter for Weber. Man, do the K-Staters hate this Weber hire or what?

I'll be interested to watch the progress and the attitudes of the fans.

Does K-State realize they are K-State? If Texas hadn't decided to keep the Big 12 together they'd be in the Mountain West right now. Boy, never knew having a coach who was in a national title game not that long ago was such a reach.

It's just like Nebraska expecting Mark Few or Tom Izzo to come to Lincoln, totally blowout expectations...

I wouldn't put Nebraska and K State in the same category. You can actually win at K State, but yes they do expect more then what they can get for a coach.

Former Indiana State Assistant Coach (circa 1999-2000) is new Head Coach at Mississippi State.

Have to disagree. Kansas State is a very, very respected basketball program. Top 15-20 all-time and probably Top 8-10 if Wooldrige and Asbury had not run them into the ground. I would say up until the mid 1990s it was ever bit as respected of a job nationally as the one in Lawrence. But it was mismanaged horribly until they got Huggins/Martin. Now they have screwed the pooch again. Webber is goofy and took Self's team to the championship game. You or I could have done it and we would have been a lot less squirrely and goofy looking in the process. Webber is sort of like Hinson in that he is a good man but just not a good basketball coach. Terribly frustrating for K-State sympathizers like me. At least we have football and women's volleyball.

Expressed as a percentage, K-State's all time basketball win-loss record is 58.6%.

K-State ranks 149th on the all time percentage win rate list.

The most interesting aspect of this is that many K-State fans are perfectly willing to have their coaches cheat, or at least skate that fine line. Vacating a season seems worth the price of the publicity they would get before the hammer drops. Growing up a K-State fan during the Hartman era, that train of thought among the new fans is bewildering and just plain sad.
