Sure they can. His release is conditional. Schools do it all the time. They grant releases only to certain schools or conferences. Most schools just say you cannot transfer within the conference because of direct competition. We have a 2 year rule in the MVC to help prevent this as well.

Nic also asked for his release before even meeting Dan Muller. He wanted it regardless of the new coaching hire. So, why should ISU grant a release to another mid major school when he is already at a perfectly good one and won't give the new coach the time of day. (you're right...it is a two way street).

Nic specifically said that he knew he wanted to play at a BCS school.....so....ISU only grants his release to BCS schools. Seems fair enough to me.

I am sure there is a terrible Pac 12 or Big East team that will make room for Nic on their roster. I wouldn't mind having him back either, but the scholarship situation is a little weird at ISU right now.

Bryant Allen (our 6th man) had a football scholarship at ISU before he got booted. Paid his own way last season ans was supposedly promised a scholarship for next year (not sure if the scholly was promised by Jank or the school). We also have two recruits that are on LOI's and promised scholarships which puts us at the max. If Nic were to come back, I would think that puts Allen up s*** creek.

If that's the case, then Moore should be the one up s**t creek IMO.

Nic Moore was just replaced by 3 Star PG Kaza Keane out of Canada. He is somewhere between 6"1 and 6"2 and 180lbs. Said to be one of the top PGs to look for out of Canada for 2013. He was reclassified to 2012 and signed an LOI with the redbirds yesterday. Dana Ford was supposedly the lead recruiter on him.

Redbird Nation is very excited.

Where'd you get that Ford was the lead recruiter? Wasn't Muller recruiting him while at Vandy? I'm not saying your wrong, I just havent seen anything linking Ford to him.
