If we move it, will you both agree to a $25 million exit fee? ;)

DJA-----who was begging for KC? Bruce? Or few fans that are bored getting loaded in St Louis? Arch madness has been great for Creighton. I don't get the allure of KC for the tourney, except the hung over drive home is a bit shorter.

on the other topic-

Losing WSU would be a big blow to the Valley. If they were leaving and CU was staying, Cu fans would be complaing about how watered down things would become. There isn't another school in the geographic area that would bring the resources to basketball that WSU does.

Here's what I know (or think that I know): Dana told the league office he wanted the MVC tourney to be held in KC on occasion.

I know that Servais and Rasmussen (along with coaches from WSu) were pissed that Illinois St was awarded the baseball tourney, despite minimal investment in facilities.

I know that Ras and previous soccer coaches have been beyond pissed off when the soccer tourney was awarded to seemingly every school but CU. Ultimately, Rasmussen threatened to pull the soccer team out of the MVC if wasn't awarded the thing.

So yeah, there are issues.

really only two ways this affects the valley:

1) not at all (cu doesn't make the cut, therefore wsu has no reason to bolt. When all the dust settles, the A-10 is too crappy to join but decent enough for remaining teams to figure something out besides joining the valley)

2) The Valley gets the chance of adding a quality team or two that get left out. maybe dayton. maybe butler.

Basically, i don't think cu makes the cut in the new league. i honestly think it is a pipe dream. we have no tv market. we are a geographical outlier. besides a "catholic" thread, i don't see us as being too appealing to them. because cu stays, wsu stays. simple as that.

I'm not anti-CU enough to admit that.

Umm.... hilarious.

So if WSU was in the same spot there wouldn't be the same "fire drill"? I'm a WSU supporter and know if CU does leave it makes the Valley less desirable and weaker in all sports, but if WSU had the same opportunity I would think the same would be going on here.

Not nearly to the same extent....it's the same reason WSU on the move is not talked about here right now.

WSU doesn't have football, pretty SOL right now. Much like Creighton they aren't in an area of the country that has much for non-football conferences looking for school. Creighton has a much higher national image than WSU, and has that Jesuit label attached that is going to be their saving grace in the event of moves.

Maybe is WSU had more conference titles in the last 25 years than the 2 or 3 they have it'd be a bigger loss. Unfortunately for WSU that national prestige isn't quite what the fans want to think it is.

WSU leaving would be a shot to the conference, but not near as bad as CU

A very weak troll indeed..

N.I.U. fan is getting scared because if BJ leaves, WSU is gonzo and then N.I.U. goes to a conference where it belongs.. MAC, WAC, Horizon.

Where is WSU going to go?

The MWC isn't an option unless they want to go to a non-football centered conference.

They aren't getting a look from the new Big East/A10/Catholic league...

Where are they going to go without football?

They might be stuck if Creighton leaves them.

Imaging a scenario where CU, UNI and IlSU are gone and WSU is stuck with the other 6 plus SIUE, NDSU, and SDSU. Marshall leaves to get into a better conference. The death spiral among their fans begins. Won't happen, but hypothetically it is hilarious.

Someone would have to take Cold's belt and shoelaces, he'd be inconsolable...

There are options, the MWC is one.

N.I.U. is already in the MAC. In fact, they are going to the Orange Bowl which is a bigger deal than how many teams does the MVC get into the NCAA tournament this year. Just some perspective.
