I like Denver fine, what are their abilities to retain their coach would be my only question. I believe he is on an upward movement or at least demonstrated an improvement from year to year there.

Here's my recommendation:

Let's all take a road trip to Omaha and toss them over the fence for their greener grass.

After that we head east and convince VCU, Richmond and St. Joes to join forces with a solid, long-established conference to form a 12-team, two-division league:

East: Indiana St, Evansville, So. Illinois, VCU, Richmond, St. Joes
West: WSU, Missouri St, No. Iowa, Drake, Bradley, Illinois St.

If the geographic gap between Indiana and VA/PA is a problem we could look at adding Cleveland St. and Belmont, putting them in the east and sending SIU back to the west. I'd like to substitute Ohio for CSU, but there's that football thing.

A10 schools have a much better TV deal as is plus I don't see them paying an exit fee to join the MVC. The A10 will add Siena and George Mason before they lose schools to the Valley.

Agreed. I think Denver would be a really good fit. They've got a lot of potential for growth.

If you wanted to go twelve teams, invite ORU and Murray State as well.

I wouldn't be opposed to Denver. Not driveable but easy to get to via flights.

Still prefer ORU. I think the league would look West before it looked East.

Will that TV deal stand after most of their premier schools leave? If it does, they won't sniff anywhere near that kind of money - relatively speaking due to inflation - in their next TV deal. I would think the MVC, bolstered by those three schools plus possibly CSU and Belmont, would be better positioned going forward.

In a perfect world, I would add Denver, and in about 6-8 years if UNO develops into a decent contender, get back into the Omaha market. Continuing with the wishful thinking, UMKC would stop being awful and we would add them as well.

For me, looking at all of our available replacement options, it would be Belmont or bust. They would be by far and away our best choice.

I completely agree. If I were to pick two schools right at the moment, I would grab Denver and Milwaukee.

Because Drake, Bradley, and Evansville have other conferences beating down their doors?

I think the MVC with 9 teams is still likely a better option than any of those three would have as far as another conference goes.
