What does this have to do with anything?

Just that the move to the A10 would be a significant improvement for the Shockers, enough so that they might consider such a move if it was offered.

It's obviously ridiculously early for Bracketology, but Lunardi threw one up, and I think it's relevant to point out:

American - 4 bids
MWC - 4 bids
A-10 - 3 bids
WCC - 2 bids
MVC - 1 bid

This is the fear.

But at the same time, the American in its first year is going to be far different than it will be going forward.

WSU might consider such an offer but the A-10 seems unstable to me. Butler, Charlotte, Temple and Xavier are gone next season. George Mason will be new. I think St. Louis and Dayton were both lobbying hard to get into the new Big East. If that conference would extend an offer to those schools, they would be gone in an instant.

The biggest mistake anybody can make is assume everything is linear. That prediction assumes that next year is going to be like last year minus CU - which I guess would be a 1 bid with the assumption that WSU won in stl.

But there were several other teams that had opportunities to have at large resumes - but in the end lack the ability to play at consistent high level. If 1 or 2 of these teams develop significantly over the offseason there is no reason why the MVC isn't a 2-3 bid league.

assumption that WSU won in stl.

Looks like we will be getting two bids again then.

The A10 is unstable, but the MVC is worse and only going to be a little better from a stability standpoint. Even if SLU and Dayton leave, I think the A10 is a 3-bid conference. With them, they are a 4-5 bid conference if all goes well.

I've never understood the stability argument. If WSU went to the A10 and the A10 falls apart, WSU just rejoins the Valley. The same way Creighton would if the Big East fell apart and they had no better option. The Valley wouldn't turn either away.
