Christian Thomas. Unless Nick Osborne has a really big breakout year, Thomas will be Loyola's only individual hope to land on the All-MVC team. And I do think Thomas sneaks onto the second team.

Don't forget Doyle. If he's as good as everyone says he is, he should be a candidate for All-MVC

I disagree with this statement.

Feel free to expand...

Baker is quite capable of breaking down a defender on the dribble and hitting a 3 point jumper or 15 footer. I believe he showed that several times pre-conference and in the post season.[/quote]

Since we're all homers on this bus...

...Don't forget about or overlook DeRail Green, RS Fr at WSU. 6'7" wing who was one of WSU's best 3-pt. shooters last year in practice. There's a huge difference between practice and games, but less of a difference between D1 practice and games than between HS ball and D1 games. Green was highly touted out of HS (Houston), but needed some additional bulk and would have been behind a lot of wings on last year's WSU squad. Still might be this year.

And, please, please, let even one coach in the Valley believe that Baker can't break down a defender off the dribble or create his own shot. Please, let just one coach think all Baker can do is hit 3's when he's unguarded.

I imagine there are about 9 MVC coaches that will take exactly that approach until he proves otherwise; maybe he can, maybe he can't, but until he proves otherwise you try to take away what he likes to do.You guys are funny about being so defensive regarding even the hint of an area of weakness on this guy. He shot below 40% from the field, took 74% of his shots at the trey line and averaged getting to the line only 2.5 times a game. What would you do as an opposing coach other than force this guy to prove he can take you off the dribble. Now I think he does some other things like rebound well and move off ball , but that still doesn't equate to a guy who has shown he can break you down off the dribble consistently.

If he shows he can, all power to him and he'll have a chance at all MVC honors; but he'll have to show it first.

I will wait for proof.

Lazy troll makes absurd claims and then demands proof to counter them.

And figure out how the quote tags work already. They aren't complicated.

Typical response when the facts don't support you. Discount the poster and focus on trivial details. What a whimpy response. Wah,Wah, Wah :Violin:

Just watch the games he played in during the MVC and NCAA Tournaments morons. He could have been our point guard if we needed him to be because he is such a good ball handler. Most of his stats you are quoting are from earlier in the year before he was hurt (and he wasn't hitting his shot) not his post season stats (when he was). He just plays within the offense so well and doesn't go one on one unless he absolutely needs to. I guess that is what you call the Carl Hall effect. Don't worry, next year, we'll have someone else step up and play the post well with his back to the basket too. This year, Baker will hit 38-40% from three, 45% from inside the 3 line, and 80% from the free throw line.

argrinut gave facts? Where?

Quote one instance of him giving a fact.

He made one random claim, refused to support it with anything, and basically said the burden of proof is on everyone else to disprove his random statement.

What is there I can focus on other than trivial details? He hasn't made any points other than just a random claim.

This is essentially the equivalent of what he's said: Marcus Marshall is the primary beneficiary of playing on an awful team with no other quality players and having other teams not put any effort in, because they know they'll win easily regardless. He's a mediocre player that wouldn't start for any top half Valley team. If you disagree with me, I will wait for proof. I won't actually provide any myself, though.

Oh, and if you attempt to disregard my comments as being completely ridiculous and just trolling you, I'll respond with "What a whimpy response. Wah,Wah, Wah :Violin:"

Which of those stats says that he is incapable of doing it?

They certainly do say that he is less likely to do it.
