What am I suppose to admit here? We took 2 borderline kids and neither qualified? Sure, risks. I agree. I'm still happy with our newcomers. We got exactly who we wanted this spring, and neither NCAA ruling came as a shock to the coaching staff. McIntosh and Hawkins are both on campus with 4 years of eligibility. I'm OK with the 'long game' strategy as long as the strategy works out. I'm optimistic, patient and young. I'm willing to give Muller 3 more years and see where he steers this ship.

Of course you should give Muller time. I'm not suggesting otherwise. That said...he didn't take over a losing program. He took over one that had just been to the NIT. IMO, coaches taking over for winners get a different type of leash than those rebuilding a losing one.

Illinois State hasn't had a winning record in the MVC since Osiris was a senior.

Porter Moser got 4 years, and he was horrendous.
But yes, I believe Muller will get 4 years barring scandal or complete uncompetitiveness.

Seems like Illinois State fans are more demanding of success now after the last few years, though.

Very well said. I think Muller will get more of a chance then Moser because of what he did while he played at ISU. But if more and more of these cases come up and not having winning records could put him on the hot seat. :(

Well Muller does rub shoulders with greatness. I'm not sure about all of his commonalities with Calipari but they both look like choir boys.

Seriously though, hopefully he can get things settled down. We'll see how many of these kids are quality recruits in the long term.

He's got a much longer leash. I think he will do fine but some hiccups are to be expected with a first time head coach.

Bolded parts could have been said for Chris Lowery as well. And he actually took a team with top players returning to the Dance.

Lowery and Les both went to the Sweet 16.
If only Redbird Country could get so lucky...

But Jank didn't get fired for losing too much right? In fact, he got a "better job" because of his success or at least perceived success correct?
