The Aces swept the Shox last season with less overall team talent and athleticism....and that is a serious comment. That probably will not happen this year, but I think other team's fans will be surprised about the new-look Aces. With a team loaded with Freshmen and Sophs, there will be some ups and downs for sure but the overall direction of the program is definitely trending upward.

This seems like a logical and true statement. The previous comments do not. Without going to such hyperbole as other posters, things are trending up in Evansville.

When the schedule came out, I wrote Doug ,asked why the Aces weren't schedule to play in Wichita on Senior 's night this year. I'm still waiting on a reply.

Doug probably doesn't even remember that you're in the conference.

Lord knows he wishes they weren't.

By the sounds of it I think you've been smoking and drinking with them. Guess you don't need us to give you that beer now. ;)

I think the Aces are trending up, I like their size, and I picked them for a top half finish.

But you just beat UIPUI for crying out loud. That's beating like, well, nobody in the Valley.

Take a deep breath, enjoy the 1-0 record. Pick off the Hoosiers or X and we'll talk.

As for those comparing Ballentine to Colt....Ballentine is a very nice player, and a great shooter. Anyone could see that last season.

But refresh my memory on how many NCAA games Colt played in...what was his NIT record even? How about his record in Arch Madness?

My point is Colt was the best player on a below average team and a below average program. Just being better than Colt might not mean much. Was he special to Evansville? Of course. Outside of UE? Not so much. I think Ballentine has more help, but we'll see.

And for the record, Colt Ryan never played in the NCAA or the NIT. His teams had an overall losing record and a losing record in the Valley in his career. He was 1-4 in St. Louis. He had 1 season of a winning record, 21-15 last year and 10-8 in the Valley. Talk of his greatness is way overblown, likely as is UE's potential on this fine forum.

I'm just glad Evansville won. All wins are good and all losses are bad for the league RPI. The more we win, the better we are. Some of our best years, have been when the league wins 2/3 of our OCC games. I doubt that we get there but it's on every team to contribute.
