I think you may be under the wrong impression.

It's great that "every other team in the league dominates their market". I hope you aren't expecting Loyola to dominate the Chicago market.

I think you know this, but saying Loyola can't get more than 1,300 people to a game isn't true.

As others have pointed out, we averaged about 2,300 last year. I'm not saying that's a job well done. I am saying that it's - on average - 1,000 more people than were at a Tuesday game against Rockhurst. It's also about half of Gentile Arena capacity for a pretty unremarkable schedule and a .500 team. I think that playing conference games against teams with basketball traditions will help. I think other teams' fans invading Gentile will help. I welcome that.

I'd like to see Loyola draw well for the conference season and for the fans who are there see good basketball. And I hope you come to a game and bring some friends.

Loyola tolerated mediocrity for many, many years. Now the administration is committed to athletics, and mediocrity (or worse) will not be tolerated.

Are there any plans to expand or build a new basketball arena.

The question wasn't about what Elgin has done for the Valley. It was about WSU's supposed indebtedness to Elgin. I am quite sure that several programs are happy with the direction of the Valley.

Elgin did some good things in the 90s and early 2000s. He has undone some of those good things, and not done much else to move the league in a positive direction in the near or long term.

I think Belmont was a better choice than Loyola but seriously, other than that, what do you think Elgin should have done recently? I think I could guess the others but I am curious.

Not that I've heard. They just spent pretty significantly on renovating Gentile and adding new locker rooms, weight rooms, athletics offices, etc. I could see it happening down the road if and when they start selling out on a regular basis, but I believe that's a long way off.

Frankly, I'd prefer they keep playing in a small arena in the middle of campus rather than pulling a DePaul and building something 10 miles away.

Belmont said no, remember?

I would rather you, or any of the other crazies on here, put up the grand list of things that Evil Elgin has done to screw the Shockers. I think we all need a good laugh.

When did anyone say that? They didn't. You try to make it sound like someone did to make WSU fans look ignorant, because that is your agenda.

I made a comment that many people have set a higher bar for what they want out of their team and their conference than the direction Elgin has been steering the Valley for the past several years. I was told that I was ignorant and WSU should be praising Elgin continually for the things he has done for WSU. I asked for examples. I heard crickets. You're welcome to try to come up with that list.
