The lame excuses need to exit, stage left.

Yes Ned Cox missed a free throw but in overtime the officating was of question.

Of question? Nah. They did exactly what I paid them to do. ;)

The knife cust both ways with officiating.

It is a slippery slope when we vocalize that the official caused us to lose a game.

It is better to take the lumps and play the next game.
There is no difference between basketball and life. Give both your best and ignore the "fans" on the sideline.

Are you referring to the phantom loose ball call that allowed Cox to go to the line in the first place, for 3 free throws (that decision still makes me laugh)?

If so I agree, that was one of the 10 worst calls I've EVER seen, and I've seen some bad ones.

Anything less than a double digit win will mean WSU has played it's poorest game of the year and is not prepared to be the championship team for which they have been constructed.

That is funny stuff right there. Game has not been played and excuse has already been laid. Just another example of giving your opponent zero credit.

What's the excuse in that post? I don't seem able to find it.

That looks like a pretty honest assessment and gives UE the credit they deserve. UE is one of the "do more with less" type of teams in the Valley. Maybe this year they will actually "do more", unlike all the years in my recent memory.

It's hard to give a lot of credit to a perennial one and done team that loses that one game in St. Louis on a Thursday night. Come up out of the basement and you'll get some credit and maybe some respect.

 I didn't see any excuse in WuDrWu's post. I think most people, myself included, think if WSU plays a good game, we're not gonna beat them at their place. I've only seen a handful of WSU's games, so I don't know if they'd have to play their poorest game of the year, either way, they play a good game and I don't like our chances. Why try to get into pissing matches when we're facing an uphill battle anyway??? As far as anyone blaming the refs, get over it, it's part of the game, both teams have to deal with it. Btw, anyone know if this game is going to be online anywhere???

The excuse was it will be WSU poorest game played to date. I took that as, WSU just played bad. And it had nothing to do with UE. If I am wrong, I apoligize. But that is the way it reads to me.

I think you're confusing "excuse" for "reason".

An excuse makes something excusable. A reason is simply an explanation. WuDrWu gave a reason. At least, that's how it reads to me.

UE 71 wrote:If we come out strong and hit our open shots within the offense it should be a close game that will be exciting to all. UE has improved greatly over last year and are starting to come together as a pretty good team this year. They will be in the Shocks face on defense throughout the game and it will be as hard fought as any they play. As I said, if the Aces play within their offense and shoot to their capabilities, it should be interesting.
What makes you think we are better than last year? Both years we are heading into MVC with a 6-4 record. Yes, we beat Butler but they were minus their point gaurd. Yes we are on a 3 game winning streak. All of them at home and 2 of 3 teams are sub 300 power rated teams by Sagarin. The other we lost by 12 to on the road and only won by 2 against on our home court. Yes we played well against IU for a half but we also played horrible the other half. IU has now lost 3 in a row and is starting to look like the last place team in the big 10. Our star player (according to most) has stunk on ice against the 3 best teams we have played this season. UNC, which isn't a great team, embaressed us from the opening tip on our home court. I remember all thge other Aces fans saying how they were going to be so competitive in the MVC going into conference play last seaon and I think we all remember how that went.
