That would be the answer for this past year had Murray been an mvc member.

In the future though it just takes a better OOC record and more separation between the top and the bottom of the conference. This past year was just very unusual and obviously a down year for the mvc.

You could start by not crowning the 5 seed in the conference tournament as champion. The winner of a Drake-Loyola title game would probably have been a #13.

Unlikely. Joe Lunardi had Loyola as a 15 and when they lost to Bradley he just plugged BU in.

It's a fair point to question whether a regular season champion should go instead of the tournament champion. But then you run the risk of sending a team that is faltering down the stretch due to injuries or whatnot like Drake.

Do it like the WCC and the top 2 seeds are in the semifinals automatically. If the wheels have fallen off the 1 or 2 seed due to injuries or whatnot they’ll lose anyway. That way you’re really rewarding the regular season and making sure your best chance at an NCAA win gets in. It also gives everyone a chance in case someone gets really hot for an extended period of time.

Murray won by 20. Goes both ways for a deficit like that.

Florida State beat the ACC, B1G, & SEC champs. They’re as good as anyone when they’re on.
