And this is why PAF shut down the PurpleAcesFans site. Stupid comments like this, rumors, and innuendos. Just let the situation play out and then move on.

Sorry this makes absolutely no sense. If you've got a problem with speculation and rumors, I'm not sure why you're on a forum to begin with. Sucks that you were stuck with a forum created by a guy who felt it necessary to take away all of UE fans voices because of how he felt about it. As if that would stop the rumors and speculation on social media anyways

:+1: People have just as much right to say shutting it down was BS and people do to agree.

I find it very unlikely that Evansville had any idea something like this would occur when they made the hire. This could happen anywhere. I don't get the accusations that Evansville sold its soul or similar nonsense.

With the amount of time and effort that goes into hiring a basketball coach at the D1 level I can’t imagine that there weren’t a couple of red flags in background checks. Now if some of the rumors are true and that’s what they are, I don’t think that anyone would of thought of that happening.

Red Flag #1: UK basketball player

Red Flag#2: Asst. under Rick Pitino at Louisville

He is from an environment where rules are for other people.

Walter McCarty, still ballin' at 45.

Pat Summitt’s kid was forced to resign from head WBB post at LA Tech for a student relationship. Turns out the two were legitimately in love, publicly open, started a family together, and even got into coaching together 3 years later.

Speculation, but if this turns out a similar situation, you might find varying viewpoints on the matter. It would presumably be a relationship between two consenting legal adults. While married when hired, his bio makes no mention of a current marriage. There’s no boss/employee connection and no evidence of quid pro quo (ie. Bobby Petrino’s employee/motorcycle mistress).

I guess I’m hoping for a benefit of doubt scenario for Evansville’s sake. It certainly wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea but it’s better than alternatives.

We as Aces fans need to continue to support our team and the University.
I know I'll be there for every game, this year and next year.

You're kinda overlooking the fact Summit was married when he engaged in the relationship, so not so legitimate. Also in the current situation no matter what the status between McCarty and the other party ends up being, he obviously spread his "love" around alot per previous counseling by the University and the term "unwelcome attention" suggests not a mutual situation.

I mean, Summit was like 21 when he got that job, he was still college age himself. My own thoughts aside, most would view that drastically differently than if he was, say, 25 years older than the young women

It wasn't JUST a "student relationship". She was a player on the team that HE was the head coach. She wasn't some random nursing major at La Tech that Summitt met walking across the quad one day. It was a player he was in control over.

They were also never "publicly open" before all of this break. That is total and complete nonsense.
