The ISU defense was god awful.

And yet that team beat UNI... This conference is weird...

Bradley and Loyola getting into Q1 territory would really help if it's possible. ISUb Valpo Missouri St Drake and SIU working their way up to Q2 would also really help. Would give UNI a chance to neutralize some of these bad losses and maybe keep the dream alive. They need help from the conference but more importantly they need to help themselves. They aren't doing themselves any favors right now.

Agree, but that is too big of an if for me to realistically entertain that as a possibility right now. We've lost two games in the first seven. One to a team with only one league win. Not a lot of evidence there that we can we win a bunch in a row.

I think at-large discussion should be put to bed unless UNI wins their next 6 or 7. As it is, the possibility is too remote to be worth discussing. And, quite frankly, holding out hope is just going to frustrate me more when we inevitably lose 3-4 more.

Honestly Loyola looks like a better team than UNI right now. They have been steamrolling since the Drake loss, although 3 of 4 have been at home. They don't seem to struggle like we have even in many of our wins.

From now on when they go to the monitor against us, we should just skip the formalities and give the other team 4 or 6 points and move on.

That said, if we're the team we think we are we done be able to overcome that.

SIU played their tails off. All the credit to that program. Going to be fun to have some old school UNI-SIU wars in the coming years. Blown away by how hard Mullins gets those kids to play.

Nah. You're overreacting. Loyola also hasn't seen Bradley or UNI yet. That schedule really turns on them here.

Agreed here. 26-5 Belmont made it with 1 win over a top-12 conference (a .500 UCLA team) and losses to UWGB and JSU (x2).

A 26-5 UNI with better metrics and a T25 road win will get in.

2014-18 committee had 5/10 members from P5+BE. That ended last year and you saw the reemergence of pre-2014 selections and seeding.

Now it’s on the Panthers to crack this nut.

The two freshmen guards for SIU - Brown and Jones - made shots they haven't made all season. Sometimes that happens.

Beating UNI comes down to the guards not covered by Brown going off from 3.

ISU
Reeves 3-6
Horne 3-3
Hillsman 3-3

SIU
Jones 4-7
Brown 3-6

I think you’re right that it isnt mathematically imposible, I just don’t think its realistic. Even if we win all our home games, which is absolutely not a given, we still have to go to Loyola, Drake, Indy St, and Valpo (not mention host Loyola, Drake and two teams that have already beaten us). Unlikely to come out of that unscathed or even 10-1 given the results thus far.

Great point. I know it seems like I pick on AJ Green - but its hard to call him the best player in the league when he gets torched on one side of the ball every night.
