I think Colt Ryan would be a welcome addition to just about any team in the Valley. He's a very good ballplayer and the constant badgering of him is inaccurate, but I have to admit, it's funny. All that said, if you are going to bash him, get your math facts straight. Assuming that only 1 D-1 school offered Colt, with 345 Division 1 teams, it would be you and 99.71% of D-1 coaches, not 99.9%.

Wow...I know people will say this was a bad, ugly basketball game... but this was a defensive struggle...both teams were playing very well on that end of the floor. Wat was up with Colt Ryan? guy couldnt hold onto the ball...

After watching the Trees dominant performance, they doubtless will march through the Shockers and Bears, like Grant taking Richmond.

And you called me a troll? Idk if anyone expects a dominant performance out of the trees...we rarely win any game by more than 12 points. And yes I read your post on Shockernet. Good luck today. Sat next to a Shocker fan yesterday who bought me a beer purely because I knew most of the players on the shox lol nice guy

sect.3purple wrote:Too many turnovers....5 by our senior, Lacey! Poor free-throw shooting. Wrong people taking shots, especially last possession. Great defense and hard work by the team, but not much offense. Last possession was horrible, or we wouldn't be going home.....what a shame to end the game with that possession!

Congrats to Indiana State. Wish it could have been our team playing tomorrow, but once again, we are one and done. Good luck Trees!

I had no problem with that last shot. Ned came off of a double pick and had an open look, he just didn't knock it down. Everybody in the stadium thought Ryan was going to get the ball. The only other option I would have liked to seen his Ryan driving trying to get to the line

Fool, be careful about judging talent and potential on the number of offers on the table: weak correlation. There is a NBA multiple All Star player who got one offer out of high school. One. Based on your logic, Steve Nash is a weak player. A D1 coach will have a list of 3-5 players he wants and 2-4 he will take. Typically, coaches want the same kids and players have to wait to see how the chips fall. I go not know how many offers Ryan had, but he is one if the better D1 guards among the hundreds who play major college basketball.

I also disagree with your assertion that most D1 players, given the opportunity, can do what Colt does. Have you watched how hard he works the whole game to get open? He then has a split second to create enough distance to shoot. Move, create distance, and shoot. Shooting is the lost art that many college players struggle with. Players can dunk, slash, and alley pop, but the jump shot is the hardest part.
There is no difference between basketball and life. Give both your best and ignore the "fans" on the sideline.

I hope your not comparing Ryan to Steve Nash. When Ryan has the NBA career Nash has I will be the first to admit you're right. Let's take Indiana St. for example. How many of their guards couldn't put up Ryan's numbers if given his minutes with the whole offense geared for them. I guarantee Carter, Printy, and Odum would easily put up those kind of numbers while shooting a better percentage. Have you checked out Ryan's shooting percentage in MVC play over the first 2 years? As for one of the best guards in the country......get serious. Against IU and UNC Colt couldn't even get a decent shot off. He did lick up a few points after IU had put the game away but unfortunately for him UNC played defense until the final buzzer.
