Reportedly, BU is prepared to have interviews tomorrow already.

So that leads me to believe guys currently not working like Lickliter and Gottfried would be the type being interviewed now.

However, I think Bradley's search is focused around 2 names...Amaker and Sydney Johnson.

I'm pretty sure he's the only coach in the Ivy League to ever get hit with penalties for violations.

He didn't exactly "wow" anyone at Michigan, but of course that doesn't mean he wouldn't do better at a mid-major...but, Amaker likely isn't looking to go mid-major for his next job.

BU is no more special than Evansville, Drake, MSU, or the other Valley schools.

I have fired people. Comes with the territory. However, coaches are sometimes fired to appease big money donors, irrational fans, and to protect canning of the AD. There are times to fire a coach.

Now, put down the Red Kool Aid, mark this blog, and pull it out in 2016 when you fire the coach you hired in 2011.

Respectfully disagree.

Blog marked.

I don't claim to know what's going on or what their plan is, but you sure seem to know it all about this subject. Do I get an apology if you're wrong, and we don't fire a guy in 5 years? We've only fired one in that short of a time frame in the last 4 decades.

I like Jim Les. That said, it was time for him to go. Bradley is one of thise schoolsin the Valley where expectations are high every year. They carry a certain amount of respect, desrved or not, in any arena they play.

Whether people want to accept it or not, salary does dictate expectations and Jim Les was the highest paid in the Valley not counting the very high salaries paid to McDermott, Marshall and Lowery. If Lowery wasn't at a university that is absolutely cash strapped, he would have been gone a year sooner (and rightfully so).

With the salary he received, the ammenities available and the budget at Bradley, Les should have done better than finishing fourth, at least once. With all the resources, he couldn't do it. Injuries plagued Les's teams, but injuries plague every team. The injury card will get you a pass here and there, it just seemed that every year, it was an injury. It was most likely that Jim Les is an average coach, with good recruiting skills and fantastic personality.

When I look at teams that could really make the Valley a great, tough league, Bradley is one of the top schools on the list. With the change, Bradley could be down the next few years, but if they get a good coach, which I believe they will, they will be a team to recon with in the not too distant future.

Everybody liked Jim Les but no coach feared playing his Braves. I will miss Jim Les, but it was time.

Great post MVJ. I liked Jim Les as well. Nice guy. Good person. Bradley legend. He just didn't get it done and the program was trending downward over the last four years. You cannot argue that.

I hope I'm not sounding like a homer here but Bradley needs to be one of the cornerstones of the league...the league is down, and Bradley is a big part of that. I'm not saying they win ever year but a competitive Bradley and 10,000+ in Carver Arena is good for the league.

I understand it may take a few years to get it back...but I think it is a very good job. I know there is a lot of interest in it for sure.

Mo, Bradley University is no more special than any other Valley team, with all due respect. Fans need to stop thinking that their Strawberry KoolAid is sweeter, tarter, and colder. Each fan loves his school, program, and team.

So, what did he fail to do, specifically?

What did he do poorly, specifically?

What does the new coach need to do, specifically?

DRUMROLL..................Win!

There is no difference between basketball and life. Give both your best and ignore the "fans" on the sideline.
