Since you brought up peripheral vision, could he not see his bench to the right and he was backing up. He had to know he was getting close. Bone head play is all it was.

Watching final four and the big Final Four emblem in the middle of the court makes the line almost impossible to see. Matter of fact there isn't a line in the words Final and Four how will the players keep from going over and back?????

Actually, I can see it pretty well, it's not camouflaged like the Oregon court is. If you were watching the Oregon game last night, you could not see the half court line. Where AY was called for the over and back, there is a dark BLACK line on the NCAA court.

I did watch the game.
And at the center of mid court there is no line in today's game.

The line, or lack thereof, is an excuse. The line has come into play more then once this year, and the fact that the official had no idea where the line was speaks volumes. Furthermore, the Oregon player knew exactly how the line comes into play and that is why he was all over the official. All of that said, Creighton played well enough to beat Oregon in almost every facet of the game except 1. turnovers and 2. freethrow shooting. Make just a respectable amount of freethrow attempts and Creighton wins going away. Missing the front end of one and ones is like slashing your wrists. Turn the ball over once or twice less and Creighton wins as well. I think this is the first time the phantom line has come into play, but I've seen three or four games where players have done it in the past this year. The NCAA should address the issue but Creighton put itself in that position.

How much longer are you going to defend the Nike court. AY made a mistake but it was a mistake that wouldn't be made in any other arena in the country.

I'm not defending it. I think it is horrible. IMO, I think it had nothing to do with the kid going over and back. The same type of line is used in the Final Four in the writing of Final Four.

Not to mention, as an opposing coach I point at markings that is close to the midcourt line in a walk thru.

I just watched the video. I hadn't seen a replay since watching the game last night. The guy was at an angel with the big O right in front of him(off to his left a bit). How could he not know he was close?????

Just saw the replay. Line had nothing to do with call. Players do the same with a big axx black line on the court. Make 2-3 more FTs or one more defensive stop and it is not an issue.

The Jays warmed up on the court BEFORE the game. A less visible line should have been noted then.

The Jays brought the ball over that line over 40 times or so in less than 10 seconds to avoid a violation.

really, players do the same with a normal line?? r u kidding? i have never seen a player just back pedal with no pressure on him over the half court line, ever at that level of basketball. combine that with this stupid court basically having no discernable line and you have the opinion that the line had nothing to do with it? thats pretty funny.

so, dad, if your son were on that court and did the same thing, i'm guessing you would feel the same way. i doth protest that is bs.

ej singler said earlier this year he did the same thing and the ref didn't even call it b/c the ref wasn't even aware of where the line was. nothing to do with the line at all right?
