My mistake mis-read that BUT, my understanding was they voted with 4 minutes left in the game.

If all you do is look at shooting percentages you wouldn't need to vote! What about rebounds, blocks, leadership, hustle, defense? It often isn't how much you score but when you score.....does the team need a bucket badly or was the shot clock expiring etc. The voters voted for who they thought had the biggest impact on the tourney not who scored the most.

I stated in my previous comments that I watched just about every tourney game with the exception of the first two games. I didn't base my opinion on shooting percentages. I researched 27 other conference tournaments and went back five years. I also looked at our conference tourney for the last ten years. Not once was there three members from the losing team picked for the all tourney team. Not once. The MVP was never chosen from the losing team. Never. The most common occurence was two players from both championship teams and one other.

I also gave some examples of players worthy of the honor. I didn't want to get into tearing a player down to make my point. I waited till the emotions of the season waned so a constructive conversation could take place. Because it was a first, I thought that there should have been something exceptional done to warrant it. I watched all three of MSU's games and I didn't see it. History is made. a precidence established. Why?
Guess just because they voted that way makes sense.

The question is why anyone would spend that much time over something as meaningless as an all tourney team. It's a subjective process that everyone gives about 20 minutes thought to when announced, gets mentioned once the next day in the paper and never is given another thought or mention again by most. Why the Bears got 3 was just a circumstantial oddity , but certainly not something of nefarious intent. I'm sure all the players you felt were so slighted got their due consideration, but anytime there's voting involved , outcomes are always subject to being questioned.

I am to old to have a son playing. But nice try, trying to discredit me in that way. I am a huge basketball fan and have seen hours, days, weeks and years of basketball. I've played, coached, ref'd, watched and seen just about everything when it comes to basketball and never had I seen what occurred. So, I invested my time to see how rare it was. Not that I have much else to do.

As was mentioned, thats how the vote went. I would truly like to know why. Since, its never happened before. Seems like a valid question. If you don't question history, you're bound to repeat it. I do support the Sycamores but if you look back at my comments you'll see that I made no pitches for any Sycamore player. This isn't a self serving agenda but one searching for fairness, equality and sportsmanship which for whatever reason didn't occur.

I also would like to apologize to Mr. Weems for using him to validate my point. It was never my intention to belittle him. I think he is a fantastic player. He just didn't have a great tourney. If he had, MSU would have went to the dance.

My goodness.

How was the process unfair? A large voting panel of basketball writers, columnists and radio personalities -- representing all 10 MVC schools -- and many regional and national media unaffiliated with any school, voted. There is nothing unfair about that.

Equality? This isn't little league. Everyone doesn't have to win an award. Every team had an equal chance to advance to the tournament final. There's your equality.

Sportsmanship? Did anyone act in an unsportsmanlike manner during the tournament? I didn't see it. I'm not sure what sportsmanship has to do with a media vote.

You happened to disagree with the result. That's all this is about. This isn't some noble crusade for righteousness.
