It was not in the pick'em, but Bradley easily beat D-2 UW-Parkside 74-58 in their opening game of the season. They started on a 12-0 run before Parkside started draining some 3's to pull the game within 28-26. Bradley went on a 20-2 run over the last 5 minutes of the 1st half and first 5 minutes of the 2nd half to put the game away. They got up by 27 points at one point before winning by 16.

Bradley was led by Koch Bar with 19 points and 7 boards, followed by Elijah Childs with 17 points and 8 boards. Bradley did not shoot well from long range going 3-13. Probably a good game to be a little careless and sloppy so the coaches can really get on the players before the game against SE Missouri State on Saturday.

I feel stupid picking against the Bears now... I gotta get used to not having the stench of Lusk leading the team. I'm not delusional and I don't think that we are going to go on some magical run. I just mean that I think that the Bears will beat the teams that they should beat, and maybe even steal a W on some teams that we shouldn't. That would make a successful season in my eyes.

Obviously, they don't care about winning. They're dragging down the conference.

Drake beat Buena Vista 98-52. Everyone played. A good time had by those in attendance.

Aces lose 99-60, without their best big man. Would not have made a difference. Illinois just too quick, and talented. Too bad the Aces had to play such a team right off the bat. There is no doubt it's going to be a long year.

The Aces seem to have a pretty strong schedule this year. At least so far...

I wonder how the Aces would have done against Illinois had Taylor and Smith not transferred. Is Illinois markedly improved compared to last year or is this a case of a young team not yet ready for P5 competition?

Having watched live the score reflected the talent disparity. Angie Simmons probably screamed like Lynn Marshall throughout not realizing this is the talent the man sitting on the sofa next to her left behind for Year 12. UE dressed 2-3 above-replacement level D1 players (Shea Feehan has some Jimmy Gavin in him). Walter taking a Simmons-roster (minus the 2 players head and shoulders above the rest) built for Martyball to play a fast style with NBA sets is like making a triple option Army/Navy/GT play a no-huddle spread. Writeoff year.

Illinois’ ball movement looked Loyola-like and they shot very well. What you expect from an Underwood offense at SFA or Okie St. Time will tell on D. Lickliter was really passionate on UE’s bench.

Sycamores go on the road and pick up a big win at Wisconsin-Green Bay 78-74. Much better FT shooting today helped get us the win!
