UNI played 32 competitive minutes against a good Utah State team. Bad shooting night and the margin ended up looking worse than the game actually was. UNI missed the front end of a 1 and 1 with 6 minutes left that would have gotten it to 4.

We all knew UNI was going to be a little bit of a work in progress but I think even Panther fans are a bit disappointed with how we've looked at times, especially against Penn and last night. We've also basically been a SWAC team travel wise which hasn't helped. Only 4 nights at home in the last 19. CF to Arlington to CF to St Thomas to Norfolk to CF to Logan. We won't play a Division I home game until December 19th. Just part of putting a good schedule together at this level.

The biggest development last night is that Austin Phyfe had a re-occurrence of the health issues he's been dealing with and only played about a minute. He can play 3 more games and still qualify for a medical redshirt. Starting to feel like the way this is going to go and that's a huge loss for UNI. We'll get better, I have no doubts about that, but it needs to happen sooner rather than later.

Watched the end of the Illinois State BYU game last night. The Redbirds could have won by ten if they finished at the rim. It was wild watching so many layups roll around and fall off. Good W with half of the team fouled out of the game.

Not sure this is right. The scores with 6 minutes left were 56-39, 56-42, & 58-42. The closest UNI got was 43-35 with 11 minutes left. (Source: ESPN gameflow)

You sound a lot like Redbird fans when Jank was the coach. Fans would get so excited over beating up on the Norfolk States of the world, (granted, Penn State and SMU would have been two of Janks better wins outside of the Valley), and then as soon as they would play an average team on the road, they would lay an egg.

I always assumed Jank teams would go 9-9 in the MVC and lose all of their road games.

Meant 6. Typo. Isaiah Brown missed the front end of a one and one. Then they hit a 3, we turned it over and they got another bucket. Game.

EXCELLENT win by the Redbirds! I didn't think they had a prayer. HUGE win for any at large hopes they may have. Major props to the Indiana MVC schools for coming up big, especially Evansville and Valpo. 5-3 in the challenge Big win over BYU solid night for the MVC. Keep it up everybody!

Until Bradley shows it can win a true road game then nothing else matters really...including if they win at home vs New Mexico on Saturday.

IUPUI did beat Boston College in Boston, and gave Xavier a pretty good game as well.

I know. But still a bad loss.

Caught most of the Redbirds-BYU game. The Birds looked like they were absolutely collapsing in the last few minutes of the 1st half and the beginning of the 2nd half. I thought they showed a lot of heart coming all the way back especially with MY in foul trouble (related, thought some of the fouls on MY and Fayne were outrageously bad).

The ISU I saw in the last 8 or so minutes of the game was the ISU team I was expecting coming into the season--they looked really good even with a few 'gimmes' not falling for them. And then to win in OT without MY--great win for the Birds. Keep the momentum going on Saturday!
