Missing our best athlete, as Drakey mentioned. Bulldogs only had 8 scholarship players available, one of whom never plays. Didn't shoot real well and still won by 14 on the road....and the game really wasn't that close. Lead was 24 at one point (and UWM started out with an 8-0 lead).

Weird question....

Do Saluki fans want Hinson to win...? Gonna be a lot of holes in the roster going into next season and i'd assume he'd sign a decent contract if they were to make a run at it this season...

*I say this only because most SIU fans don't see to love Barry.

Damn, Drake is good. Could’ve ran that up to 30 but let off the pedal.

Norton is for real, folks. An SIU-Drake final would not shock me.

If those two take care of business in the non-con the multibid dream could still be alive.

I don't mean this harshly, but you're a bit delusional. SIU has a slim chance with a net in the 80's and two road games against Murray St and Buffalo, but no real other chances for top level wins. Drake has a 120+ net, only played 2 teams with RPI's below 200 and they lost by almost 30 to one of them [ Colorado]. The only quality wins they have available are Iowa St/New Mexico St , which are decent but not enough imo. Not enough meat in their schedule even with a dominant MVC run. Not knocking either, go back and you'll see I picked SIU to win the Valley and predicted Drake had a lot more talent than most were recognizing, especially their top 6-7. But SIU lost a couple key games and now even with a really solid MVC year will be a bubble team at best if not the tourney champ, and Drake just doesn't have the schedule meat. You have to have 5-6 top 100 wins generally to get an at -large.

This is exactly how it will play out. Watch some games. SIU is dangerous with Lloyd, Fletcher and Pippen. Could have 2 teams in, both have to win a bunch.

It will take a 16-2 type of conference record for SIU to get an at large, which I dont see happening. Even then they would still probably be left out of the equation. But you never know. Thats why you play the games!

Milwaukee is 2-7 and 285 in KenPom. They're freaking terrible. Any Valley team with a pulse would beat them like a drum.

Here are Drake's wins (KenPom):
Buena Vista--DIII
Texas State--136
Kansas City--274
Boise St--131
NDSU--216
Milwaukee--285

Loss-Colorado--58--Gave up 100 and lost by 29

Their SOS is 191. With all those wins it only gets Drake to 175.

I mean, its better than losing but lets hold off on handing them a title them for now.

You make some good points. I would push back by saying Drake is one of the few teams to have won all the games we're supposed to so far (arguably 1 or 2 more than folks would have predicted), have done so with a roster that features 5 out of 7 players earning the most minutes who weren't even enrolled at Drake a year ago, and won our last 2 games without arguably our second most important player.

Sure, the season's early. There's a lot of ball to be played. Drake doesn't play like a team with 10 new bodies, 10 freshman or sophomores, or like most teams coming off a messy transition following a coach's departure. Too soon to talk about handing Drake a title? yes. Too soon to talk about the possibility of them playing in the title game? There's an argument to be made with no, not too soon at all.

It's NCAA or bust for Barry this year. If he doesn't get us there, then he needs to go. While he does have a very nice recruiting class next year - along with what will be a nice backcourt with Cook, McGill, and Darius Beane - I would vote for a rebuild and risk losing some of those recruits so that we can get a new coach in the door - Bryan Mullins we're looking at you.
