It looked like the UNI of old with great defensive rotation and challenged shots and a very well spaced offense that created driving lanes and open shots. The Old Dominion game in the Virgin Islands was the only other time UNI looked anything like that.
Isaiah Brown absolutely dominated Darrell Brown. Suffocated him. Couldn't get a decent look at the bucket. Bradley's offensive struggles had a lot to do with how UNI defended.
Let's hope this win and performance get Ben Jacobson off the drug that is 'playing fast'. Everytime he decides he wants to do that, bad things happen and then when he remembers who he is, good things happen.
The one point of caution I would interject is that Bradley likes to play UNI-style basketball and I've always said no one in the Valley does it better than Jake. That's one of the reasons he was so successful for that stretch is that the majority of conference coaches wanted to play that style, and he'd flat beat you at it most times. It will be interesting to see the rest of this season and then going forward does Jake try to win using traditional UNI philosophy or continue to try to "modernize" when he's not proven to be very good at it. This years not the best test as teams like UE/Drake/MSU are not going to have the personnel and systems established to truly be able to push the pace consistently like they want, but it will be fun the next few seasons when they do and the Valley has a much more diversified style of play across it's membership than the half court bump and grind that dominated the past 15 years or so.
