How long are they out and what happened to each?

Fazekas has been out since early in game 3 vs Bradley. I think somebody said he is still in a boot? Ankle--so I might expect him to return pretty soon.

Smits---A game time decision speculated to be back pain related. If so hopefully it isn't a chronic condition.

Golder-- ankle sprain 3 minutes into Drake game. Also in boot and VU never supplies any meaningful injury reports. Your tea leaves are just as good as mine.

As long as the team is fully healthy by late February any temporary setbacks don't much frighten me. Any time you have 2 redshirt transfers sitting out you are rolling the dice on injuries. VU took that chance and with Bradford also being injured (probably redshirt) their gamble is demonstrating its downside risks.

The first 5 minutes of Loyola SIU have been comically bad.

Redbirds pick up an easy win over the lifeless Sycamores, Phil Fayne continues to be a Sycamore killer

Loyola comes up with a pretty dominant win over SIU 75-50 (with key SIU players playing until the final seconds).

Never know which Loyola team is going to show up, but they definitely seem more consistently dangerous at home.

So who is or best hope for March upsets for the MVC? Is it still Loyola?

I said two months ago that Loyola was the best team in the league. It's still true until they prove they aren't.

If Williamson is out for the year (as some murmurings are suggesting), that is a huge blow to the Ramblers.

Also concerning are the multiple games where the offense was just absolute crap (Maryland, St. Joe's, Evansville, Missouri State).

All that being said, with Custer, Townes and Krut being the best trio in the league (and all with the Final Four experience), Loyola is probably still the favorite to go dancing. We will learn a lot this week with Valpo hosting red hot Missouri State, Illinois State on the road at Drake and then Illinois State hosting Loyola Saturday night on ESPN2. Almost halfway through conference play!
