After the 5th transfer, THEY might start to wonder if they still exist as an institution. Kidding...I think. The biggest issue for Valpo, is not who transferred, but who they get to replace them.

I don't know Valpo's financial situation, but from a competing for meaningful postseason standpoint, I can't help but think that any additional seasons given to Lottich at this point are a waste of the program's time. Valpo would be well-served to be more proactive than SIU was in moving on too slowly from Lowery and Hinson (decade-plus postseason drought and counting ...), because a rut can become a prolonged, painful abyss without effective leadership and decision-making.

The AD Mark LaBarbera should fire everybody and then resign. The ARC janitorial staff should then open every door and window to let the place air out. By fall maybe some of the stink will be gone.

Maybe I just missed something, but do we even really know what's going on? Was there something else under the surface that fans just don't know about? Did all of these Valpo players just really hate playing there? Did two decide to leave and the rest just decided it wasn't worth it anymore?

It's just that this is definitely an "epic meltdown" like you said, but do we have a reason for why it's happening?

I honestly though Valpo could contend next season with everybody they had coming back. Now, Lottich will have to scramble just to field a team.

But, ya never know.....a year ago today, Drake had a grand total of 3 players on the roster, and things worked out alright.
