Speculation, but if this turns out a similar situation, you might find varying viewpoints on the matter. It would presumably be a relationship between two consenting legal adults. While married when hired, his bio makes no mention of a current marriage. There’s no boss/employee connection and no evidence of quid pro quo (ie. Bobby Petrino’s employee/motorcycle mistress).

I guess I’m hoping for a benefit of doubt scenario for Evansville’s sake. It certainly wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea but it’s better than alternatives.

I mean, Summit was like 21 when he got that job, he was still college age himself. My own thoughts aside, most would view that drastically differently than if he was, say, 25 years older than the young women

It wasn't JUST a "student relationship". She was a player on the team that HE was the head coach. She wasn't some random nursing major at La Tech that Summitt met walking across the quad one day. It was a player he was in control over.

Which is what sent Summitt packing. This situation would lack that dynamic. If the dominant speculation online holds truth, I wouldn’t agree with the behavior but it is a thing that goes on across campuses and it isn’t illegal. It’ll depend if the law firm finds Title IX violations:

When a professor or someone employed in a leadership/influental position at a University has a sexual/romantic relationship with a student they get fired. It's not a legal situation, but it's a code of conduct issue. And this doesn't sound like this was a one off for Walter.

True unless you are in one of the P5 conference favorites. Then it must be for something like a Pitino type. The valley does somewhat of a good job. Maybe not entirely but for the most part

That is about as funny as third actually grabbing that rail.

I figured this was just a matter of time.

There is a hilarious picture on the Saluki board of this.

There was a time during the Marty era that I actually advocated this. Barry was at least competitive, and his personality was exactly what the program needed to mend the bridge with the community. Stark contrast to the angry introvert we had in place at the time.

Does the expression "Hell NO" mean anything. But thanks anyway. But if we are talking unemployed Coaches I would take Rick Petino, even with the baggage. He has to start somewhere
