If the Salukis played the second half as well as they played the first half, the game would not have even been close.

IF Aunt Sarah had testicles she would have been Uncle Frank, but she didn’t and neither did the Aces. Your team lost, end of story.

You guys seem awfully butt hurt about beating the worst team in the Valley by two points.

I'm way more "butt hurt" about the Little Rock loss and beating Alcorn State by 3. Was happy with the Evansville win. SIU is 1-0 in the Valley and did it without Lance Jones, Trent Brown, and Ben Harvey and did it on the road. They were the only road Valley team to win their first game. And then they followed it up with their best game of the year on Saturday.

worst team in the valley can be shared by many at this point. This is by far, the weakest Valley in over 25 years of following the conference. A one bid league is a certainty with only the Bonnies as a signature win among the entire league.

It was weaker a few years ago when Barry Hinson's SIU were battling Muller's declining ISU for the right to lose to the Ramblers in Saint Louis. SIU was probably the worst 3rd place team in a long time in the Valley. Loyola is better now than at that point and the 2nd place Bulldogs are much better than that 2nd place Redbird team.

While most Valley teams returned pretty much intact because of covid, so did everyone else. I still think the Valley is better than last year but there are some definite head scratchers. UNI is real close and awful in back to back games. Bradley is almost awful at times. SIU competes with the best and lets the worst compete or beat them. MSU is loaded with talent and lose to SEMO and nearly beat BYU with a bunch of backups. Everyone picked the Redbirds last and at times look the part then bust out a good one. LU and DU are the most consistent but don't look gelled at all. Might be interesting before it's over.

Not saying I totally disagree, but that year the MVC was #8 in the RPI as a league and the RPI was still the main metric used by the NCAA at that point... I also believe SIU was 2nd, but that's kinda beside the point.
Also... Do you think that this Loyola team is better than the Final Four team, or am I misreading that?

I think so yeah. The Final Four team got good breaks in March. I think last year's team was better too despite only making it to the Sweet 16

That was an electric semifinal game at the Arch, though.

Oh man i think 18-19 was definitely worse than the Final Four year...

The Ramblers tied for the league title with Drake at 12-6 in a season that included a 70-35 loss at MSU and a 67-48 loss at Evansville. Even when that team won they were MISERABLE to watch with no reliable shooters outside of a freshman in Cooper Kaifes and Lucas Williamson who missed half the season.
