I think the same can be said for UNI, Loyola and SIU. Loyola is very "handsy", but doesn't seem to get called for much. UNI is great at using hips and mid section to push guys off their path without using their hands. I'm guessing every team tries to get away with as much as they can. I can tell you for a fact that Drake has been called for more fouls than their opponent in the majority of games the last few years.

Doesn’t get called for much? Mosley shot 11 FT’s on Loyola last week. Drake had 28 FT’s today, this is comical the refs were pure garbage and Drake got bailed out.

Of Drake's 28 FTs, how many were after Loyola started intentionally fouling with a few minutes left?

Until Loyola started intentionally fouling, Drake had been called for more fouls than Loyola.

And how many wins would Murray have in the SEC? You are comparing apples to armadillos.

Drake got to 10 fouls in the second half before Loyola did. And fwiw, Loyola was just tired and sluggish due to their recent compressed schedule. Drake took advantage of that. The refs were fine. Loyola just had a hard time moving their feet because they were tired. Drake kept driving to the hoop, kept pressuring ball handlers, and by midway through the second half Loyola was absolutely zapped of energy.

Call it a gift from the scheduling gods or whatever, but Drake was smart to relentlessly take advantage of it.

Come on. Drake didn't get bailed out. Loyola had too many turnovers (some of them unforced, some of them forced) and Drake took advantage of it. A good 8 (maybe more) of Drake's FTs were due to intentional fouling at the end of the game.

The only relevant complaint about officiating is inconsistency. Looking at how the game was Missouri State called (tight calls, some "ticky tack" type for physical defense) vs how the two SIUs games were called (absolute slugfests with minimal referee involvement). Tough sometimes to adjust on the fly.

I was annoyed and was being irrational, it was a good win by Drake.

Looking back, I think it was a real good game between two pretty good teams. I think it's the first time Hemphill played in a game against Loyola.

Penn isn't anywhere close to 100%, not sure he ever will be again. But, this is probably the healthiest Drake has been all season, only one key player still injured.

Not saying Murray State will struggle to the same degree Valpo has in the MVC (I think we can all agree that Murray State is the superior overall program given their decades long track record through multiple coaching hires albeit against lesser competition for the past 15 years or so) but with absolutely no days off in the MVC the Racers will find it much more difficult to rattle off win streaks like this in this conference (unless they are even better than even I thought they were and are going to dominate from the jump which seems unlikely). There are no easy games in this league even the bottom teams play the top teams tough. Any MVC team has to come to work every night in order to win.

I predict 4 teams will be hosed by the refs tonight.

It won't be the Aces, or Valpo.
