Where was all of MSU's concern when Creighton was left out with a title and 26 wins? Nary a peep then.

Now they want us all to go on some sort of letter writing campaign?

There just isn't anything there for the selection committee which says MSU belongs in the field.

Go play someone and then call me, they are in the NIT.

Record against possible at large= Legit

Don't give me the other 2 they are based on the RPI you then want to ignore. MSU probably won't be in but should be in over 5-6 teams that will make it

Bad day for bubble teams today as Colorado State seems to be the only one that went down. Looks like it's the NIT for the Bears. Will not be terrible because the NIT should have some decent quality.

Wasn't terrible. Had some teams lose that got rid of them for good in So Miss and Cal. UAB lost as well.

I do think new Mexico played its way back onto the bubble and we need BYU to take care of them tomorrow.

Washington State is down 5 with 3 minutes to go and that would take care of them as well...

I'm not getting my hopes up but so far things have been going well...

No bitching about not getting two bids this year.

The Valley has the 12th best conference rpi.

The 14th best conference is the WCC and they will probably get two teams into the tournament (GONZAGA and ST. MARYS).

Last I checked it was 14.

Gonzaga would have gotten in because of their name. St. Mary's might get in but I'm not sold. However, those two programs are the ESPN/media darlings of the NW so there will be a push to get them in.

I wouldn't be surprised if the bears didn't get in, but for St. Mary's to get in ahead of them? that would be a joke. Beating St. John's is a good win, but it was before thanksgiving. Losing to San Diego in February (RPI of 317) should cancel that win. Putting both teams side by side i don't see how St. Mary's gets the nod? They should definitely be on the bubble with us and not "in" via joey brackets.

Warren Nolan RPI had us at 11 until BB since then we have been a solid 12 in the conference RPI:

The WCC has not been better than 14 since December.

As I recall, there was plenty of concern. I know Bears fans wanted two MVC bids that year, as 2009 turned out to be the second year that the Valley only received one bid. Creighton should have received an at-large bid in 2009, but several things fell into place that year. First, although Creighton had 26 wins and a signature win at home against Dayton, they also had a couple of terrible losses to cancel those out: at home vs. Drake and on the road vs. Wichita State (7th place Valley team that year). It didn't help that Creighton only made it to the Valley semifinals in 2009, and got absolutely blown out by Illinois State - this year MSU made it to the Valley championship and lost in the last possession.

Second, Creighton was not the outright Valley champ that year, and was not the No. 1 seed at Arch Madness. I can't help but think that makes a pretty big difference.

Third, the bubble was especially unkind in 2009. In fact, Joe Lunardi had Creighton in his last four in all the way until Sunday, when two teams came out of nowhere to put on their glass slippers to win both the PAC-10 and SEC tournament championships.

Third, there are three more spots available this year. I don't doubt that had the field been expanded to 68 teams in 2009, Creighton would have received an at-large bid.

Yes. I certainly did in 2009 when, despite the circumstances, I thought Creighton got shafted. I mean, Minnesota? Seriously?

Wasn't Arizona the team that no one expected and bumped CU out? And then they made the sweet 16.
