Good grief I just meant both comments in jest. :Bam:

Truth is MSU since joining the valley is 3rd in wins and I believe that only Creighton has a winning record against the Bears.

It's a good point. I don't think ISUb has a single NCAA win in those 3 appearances do they? (not 100% sure of that though?). In the Bears lone appearance didn't we make it to the sweet 16? I'd take that over one and done x 3.

But look in comparing ISUb and MSU - neither program has really distinguished themselves over those last 10 years. But both are definitely on the upswing. The fans of both schools should be proud of that. I was extremely disappointed when ISUb beat us in the final game of the tournament but personally if we had to get beaten I'm glad it was them.

Well A. Last year Indiana State finished 3rd last year so it really wasnt a "one year wonder" but as a point of information, Indiana State defeated Oklahoma in 2001 in memphis as a 13 seed I believe and almost took down gonzaga but fell. Please correct

Where did I state Indiana State was a "one year wonder"? Never said that at all.

And regarding Indiana State's 3 tournament appearances I did qualify the statement with "not 100% sure". But I stand corrected. According to wikipedia they did win a game in 2001.

I dont believe that comment was slanted towards you. Caseygarrison made the one year wonder comment. Either way, ISUB went from 7th to 6th to 3rd so any MSU fan who thinks the trees arent "taking the long road" is just play idiotic.
This topic is over because there is no fact to be shared from the opposing side other than calling "Terre Huate" (as he spelled it) names.

Yes I agree Indiana State is definitely on the upswing. I hope both programs are.

Coming from an ISU fan it is pure hilarity. What do you think your team was this year? MSU did it over the long haul. There should be a modicum of respect for the Valley champion.

If avoiding Thursday is some sort of mark of pride for a program then that is something that I did not know about. Doesn't seem worthy of hanging a banner.

You be proud of hanging that "Valley Champion" banner. It'll be the first undisputed one in what, 15 years, that doesn't have an accompanying "NCAA Tournament" line as well. Congratulations!!!

Indiana State, on the other hand, gets to hang a banner that also says MVC champion, but includes the NCAA Tournament tag as well. I am sure they'll be embarrassed by it.

By the way, Jacqui Kalin has two NCAA tournament banners hanging, how many does Casey Garrison have?

We are proud of our indisputed championship which was hard earned over the course of an 18 game season. To insinuate that we should feel otherwise is sure awfully hard to comprehend. That we should be embarrassed by the championship? Okay.

Indiana State should take pride in that championship. I have not said anything to dispute that. I applauded their laurels myself. But it should not be at the expense of others, for example MSU and WSU which both had excellent years as well.

I have to correct you on your last point. UNI as a team won those banners. I can't imagine that they have an NCAA banner at the arena hung for a particular player. But if I am incorrect please let me know. You know Bill Wennington won 3 NBA titles with the Bulls while he sat on the end of the bench wearing scrubs most of the time. Charles Barkley never won a title. If this fact makes Wennington the better performer then I have no possible words. Cannot rationalize with someone if this is the case. *EDIT: Not that I am comparing Kalin to Wennington or Casey to Barkley, just using a parallel to prove a point.

And just a little add on for the folks that added "boom" or "kaboom" in response to khans point, well I want to say this with all do respect but those are meager and almost insufficient to attempt to counter argue. I would be more than happy to have a fair discussion with you folks, but is not going to be possible if can't articulate your points a little more thoroughly. I again say this with full respect.

Like I said, be proud of your banner. Remember it was a hollow victory however, as your best team couldn't get to the big dance. Something 15 straight regular season champions/#1 tourney seeds had done.

And yes, players win championships. Wennington really? Which player is most like him and what he did for the Bulls, Kalin or Garrison? Or did you really mean to compare a bench player to one on the floor as the team leader? Good comparison. You're the one with the moniker trying to lift a player to certain heights. I was simply pointing out the flaw in your acclaim. Or is your name merely mocking the player? In that case, well done, I guess.

You lost me on this one bud...

You think those were counterpoints? It is a nod of agreement in my own, UNI-esque way
"Got it into Moran, final seconds TICK AWAY!! PANTHERS WIN! PANTHERS WIN! Oh BABY, I LOVE THIS TEAM!!! The UNI Panthers have just SHOCKED the College Basketball World. DOWN GOES KANSAS! DOWN GOES KANSAS!!"
