Learning experience for both players and coach. First real challenge of the year and guys made plays when they had to. Not sure what the resistance by the staff was to move the bigger Gulley and Pickens onto Clarkson; he ate the smaller Bazooka and Downing up for 34 minutes with his size and ability to get into the lane and make plays. Everyone was calling for the switch, but for some reason we just wouldn't go to it till about 6-7 minutes remained. It made all the difference down the stretch and overtime. That's one of the strengths of this team having 4 guys 6'4 who can guard multiple positions , with Pickens and Gulley especially quick, long, and athletic enough to be legitimate stoppers. Gotta get some guys healthy; no one is missing games but practices have been limited due to various ailments for Scheer/Downing/Pickens and a couple others here and there. But our depth is carrying us with different guys stepping up.
Could be a possible 3rd straight week of a different Bear being NOW on the heels of a quietly great game by Gulley [16pts,8rbs].He's quickly becoming a very consistent player across the board,/rebounds/playmaking/ scoring. He can flat get to the hole and with those long arms is very quick to the ball off the boards.
