I see your point BirdmanBB. I will still be shocked if we (INS) get a tv game. Question though, are the match ups already decided, or can our matchup change depending on if we win/lose at UE tomorrow night?

BirdmanBB wrote:Right now I think Creighton, WSU, MSU, Drake and Indiana St. could all be on some form of ESPN. You have to keep in mind that the home teams have much stronger RPI's than the road teams this year. You are going to get a lot of teams within the top 100 playing teams outside of the top 100. This is why I think Indiana St. has a chance at the very least some sort of ESPN game as there are 13 televised ones this year.

Check out the RPI's. Road teams are not as good as home teams this year. Right now Indiana St. is matched with VCU which also happens to be the 13th matchup......and there are 13 ESPN matchups.

Redbirds are a home team with a 114 RPI. We would have been better served to be on the road this year as we would have been the 9th or 10th best road team, however this year we are the 19th best home team.

I think we will get the matchups we want unless ESPN wants to try to spread CU, WSU, St. Mary's and Murray St. out to 4 different games to maximize viewers. I think they would still be better off with CU-St. Marys and WSU-Murray St. It will happen.

St Mary's handles BYU easily. With the Wichita St loss to Drake, I'd be stunned if St. Mary's isn't scheduled to play Murray St.

That would suck when you compare the resumes of Murray and Creighton, Creighton's is better and St. Mary's is the best road RPI and Creighton has the best home RPI. Creighton and St. Mary's have stated they want to play together as well. It would suck if ESPN did that but wouldn't surprise me. We will probably get a athletic LBSU team who has a horrible resume. Lose lose for Creighton.

As bad as that is for Creighton (or at least not desirable), the situation for Wichita State is worse. I'm guessing they go to Oral Roberts now.

In the end, I think it's gonna be bad for both teams. Bracketbuster looks to be a screw job for the valley this year.

I cannot disagree with this. I'm on record as wanting the Valley to pull out of the event and I suspect this year will only solidify that position.

There is no way they don't match up CU and St. Mary's....

At least I hope there is no way..

Seems like there is no way but ESPN might bite on the Murray State "undefeated" nostalgia....

MVCFANS - some questions.... Are there any official or common selection rules for the Bracketbuster pairings?
Is the selection solely on RPI or poll ranking? I had read somewhere teams can offer, who the team would like to play, does this have much bearing on the pairings? Is any logic involved in what would be a good game for fans to watch?
I have no idea what teams/conferences are included or have opted out, but I would find match ups with Middle Tennessee and Dayton interesting.
