Actually MTSU is a pretty good program these days. Just got the call-up to CUSA for 2013.

WSU does not have the academic reputation of Creighton, Butler, Marquette, or Georgetown.

Pretty much any public university lacks this cachet. But I wouldn't say Butler has that cachet either except for a handful of degrees (Pharmacy most notably)

Belmont might not be a bad option, their tournament resume recently is good (5 NCAAs since 2006) but none beforehand (not sure how long they have been D1) and they are in Nashville which is a big city. Might be a little too east for the Valley.
