was just gonna say the same thing, NO WAY this happens. Cincy would lose waaaay too much money dropping down.

There is no team (Cincy or Memphis coming is not realistic) that can jon the Valley and make losing Creighton a good thing.
UWM? Denver? The Dakota's? Oral Bob? Please. I would consider adding any one of these schools a major disappointment.
Redbirds need to join the MAC...at least we see some upside with the potential to move to FBS.

Do you think the MAC wants us and would invite us? I'm not being argumentive as I just don't know.

I think UNI and Illinois State as a combo could be fairly attractive to the MAC. I would just hate to take the step down in basketball, but maybe with the 'New Valley' it wouldn't be a step down...

I hope so..it's really the only fit I'm interested in (aside from maybe Conf USA). I think it's shame the direction the Valley is headed in, but the writing seems to be on the wall.

You do realize that the MWC is currently the 1st or 2nd strongest conference in all of college BASKETBALL right? Just checking.

But overall my thought is move them up, move them over. I'm tired of the CU discussion and all this crap. We will miss them in a couple of sports but overall if we add the right school(s) the neighborhood won't be worse off due to their absence. Frankly it just greatly irritates me with this being the first day of March and everybody starting to think about the Tournament that the C7, Big East Leftovers, or whatever they call themselves has to upstage the whole event. I will miss Creighton make no mistake about that but--and this part I guarantee--they will end up missing the Valley the most. Give it a decade and we will see.

FWIW, I just heard that Fox Sports has some kind of upfront meeting next week (Tuesday?) with TV execs, about their new sports channels, and they apparently want the C7 in tow, in time for the media next week for publicity.

Blame Fox.

now I don't know that this holds any truth, but this post was from the holylandofhoops message board

http://holylandofhoops.com/viewtopic.ph ... 90a3490ea1

"I'm being told by someone I trust implicitely that the schools could only agree on Butler and Xavier. That is why they are definitely coming in next year. I have also heard that Georgetown gave Creighton to Marquette and in return, Marquette is going to give Georgetown Richmond for school number 11. The schools are at odds about who should be team #12.

The only reason why Creighton is joining next year vs 2014 with Richmond is because Creighton's exit fee is pretty much nothing and Fox/Catholic 7 are helping with the exit fees.

I guess we will see."

So this leaves either St. Louis or Dayton out of the C-7. I don't know?

The MAC is just so watered down in basketball. I would rather see us try to move up together and go after Western Kentucky, Tulsa, and New Mexico State. That would make a solid 12 team basketball and 8 team football conference.

Whiskey, if WSU would ever get an invite to the MWC, just like in Creighton's situation, the school would have to do what is best for the school and no one could blame them if they left. WSU has been in the Valley a long time but a MWC invite might be hard to pass up. I hope it doesn't happen but I'd be happy for all of you if it ever came to pass.
