NMSU doesn’t mind Chicago St as they have a suprising amount of Chicago alumni (via Chicago/Arizona being so incestuous) showing up at those games. Even played Illinois at United Center.

NMSU is consistent, historic, and well supported. WAC -> MVC might not be a lateral move, but NMSU -> MVC sure is. Poaching their coach isn’t realistic.
